Dierk, very nice shots!!! You have captured the grit and atmosphere so well
Ajay, love shots #1, 2 and 4
Joe, I can validate, Ajay's comments about the Epson 3880, as a great printer. Both the 4900 and 3880 are A2 size, but as Ajay suggested the special ink set may increase the tonality and depth. IMO, the majority of the setup, is getting the workflow nailed. Also I would find a local colour lab that will provide printer ICC calibrations, that will also provide the ability to proof final shots, within CS5 before final printing. BTW, I am not sure about Durian, yet
Particularly love the 1st shot ajay!!
Great shots Dierk! Must be very hard to take in that lighting condition!
More durian good ness
"Maam, look at the succulent meat" (in Cantonese) ::: Stadium night market, Ipoh
I don't eat it much myself, but yes, it's called the King of Fruit and most foreigners I show it to have refused to go near it and in fact give me a 'are you kidding me?" look for bringing the delicious fruit so near to them.
Thanks very much Carsten, Joe, Ajay, Charles and singletrack
Charles, the last portrait is just perfect and impressive!
Great shots Dierk! Must be very hard to take in that lighting condition!
it was not that difficult, my problem was, that with f/2 these guys moved all the time
and I forgot to fix the time at 1/125 and let the ISO automatic do the exposure. All the shots are blurred from 1/60, but I used a lot of grain (first time this much) and grain and blur seems to express the mood of this scene
Edwin, very sweet little girl portrait !
On my screen (and with my poor eyes) I don't have a problem with artifacts on this picture, only the focus seems to be a bit closer to the ear.
I do the sharpening in LR3 42,1,34,0 and for the export I use the "Output sharpening: screen, Amount: standard"
Question: do you use Mogrify for the framing? I like it.
Ajay, nice set with the 28Cron. Lush looking files. Hope your new lens won't disappoint
Nice shot KL!
Very Nice set Edwin, colors and sharpness looks good to me.
Charles, are you trying to temp me into buying another 50Lux? Excellent portrait and great tonality.
Nice set Gary.
BTW, I called B&H and asked about the 3880 vs 4900. They told me that there is more depth and better color separation on the 4900 but only if you look very closely, else the 3880 is pretty good. I will probably go with the 3880 as the 4900 seems like a beast and won't let me print 4x6s. Will definitely have a tech come over to calibrate the setup for me. On another note, I ordered a NEC PA27 today. Looking forward to profiling and printing with this combination.
Edwin, Dierk and Joe, thanks, much appreciated
Edwin, very nice set! There is a lot of information on sizing for the web, by Luka, amazing stuff. I would find these threads as they are invaluable.
Gary, nice shots! Very nice for late evening hand held shots
Joe, great shots....loving your recent shots with the play of lighting and shadows. Yes, I still think you should keep the 50 Lux Asph
Yes I could not agree more! The 50 Cron is a great lens too, and your work with the 28 and 35 is amazing Just a heads up on C1 Pro 6.3, just updated yesterday has already RAW support for the NEX 7 and C5!!!
