I have a question for you all.. How well does the focus and recompose work with the M9? Don't think it is much of an issue stopped down, but how about wide open ? In other forums, a lot of M9 photos are composed dead center - which is rather boring. It does not seem to be the case here on this thread.
Luka, that shot of Medusa is very very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Dierk, Wonderful shots of your models. Excellent work. Also those opera shots, especially the one with the person walking in front of the building..
Gawwd, you guys are talented! Are there any other photo forums that I should visit to see such photos ? It is hard to find places where both artistic and technical merit come together.
@ajay - this seems to be the only thread i have been lurking around since it started that has both the creative and the technical sharing :-) i havent shared so much here though but have learned from the guys here.

His photos are great, but you obviously haven't lookedveryhard. (sorry last link is the f/1.0 version, but you get my point).
Charles, excellent beach sets! My favorite is #3 in your last set on the previous page

It's a very complex techique that invloves first focusing and then recomposing No, but seriously it's no problem although it is a distinct disadvantage with the rangefinder patch compared to the ground glass of a DSLR where you can focus anywhere and not just in the center. I had to change my routine from compose-and-focus to focus-and-compose or compose-focus-compose again.
Essentaially it's the same method you use with an AF camera when you use the center point for focusing. The only difference is that here you have to do it manually.
thrice, thanks for the links, great photos there!
you may find many more pictures of the Noctilux at leicaimages.com/ under "search" you find pictures of any possible lens and many other criteria
charles, again great series from the beach!
more with the LEICA NOCTILUX-M 1:0,95/50 mm ASPH.
f/0.95 open
and here is the monster
(shot with Nikon D3 and 24mm PC-E lens, no Leica shot!!)
Scott, Mort, Luka and Dierk, thanks
Scott, you were almost right, it is Snapper rocks
Dierk, very nice set! Favourites are #1 and 2. Nice shot of the beast
Great pics everyone. I'm curious as to the viewfinder coverage on an M8. I am looking at finding out the widest FL I can use without an external VF. I have heard that on the M9 you can go to approximately 25mm by using the entire VF. What could I get away with on the M8? It doesn't need to be exact but a guesstimate would be fine....

On the M8, the 24mm frame lines are pretty close to the edges of the vf
