eos3d - the shots from Montmartre, France are excellent! Great colors. The 40 Cron on the M8 seems like an excellent pairing.
Luka - more excellent shots from the US. The first shot with the ZM 18 is my favorite
Gary - they say you should have the coding and UV/IR filters on all lenses 35 and wider. I found on the M8 is best to code all lenses and slap on a UV/IR filter on all as well. I found the colors to be way off when not. Hand coding with marker/nail polish is all you need to do. Get a coder kit from match technical
Carsten - that is the true color of that building. I adjusted the luminance to bring out the blues in the sky...thats it. That was with my first 50 Lux that was back-focusing a bit. I focused on the bolt between the two doorhandles and it actually focused about a foot behind.
Joakim - beautiful scene! I wish we had lakes like that around here...I would know those woods inside/out . And I hear you....I don't know how I'm going to share time with the 35 Lux with the 50 Lux around now. What a spectacular lens! I can see myself with just a 28 Cron, 50 Lux and 90 Cron AA....mmmm....actually...thats an idea
Rya, wonderful colors and use of colors in the series.
Joakim, a lovely serene scene.

That's my standard kit. The problem is then that on occasion you want to go with one lens, so you'll need the 35 Lux ASPH for that purpose. And if you plan on shooting landscapes, you can't do without a UWA.. and of course some of the Leica lenses such as the 35 Lux aren't ideal for traditional landscape shots.. so you'll need a couple of Zeiss lenses.. and so on

Sounds like my 50 Lux ASPH before I sent it in the first time

Hmm, exactly my thinking Except, I bought a 35/1.4 ASPH to tide me over, and I think I will keep it And except I think I might pick up the new 21/3.4 for the odd occasion And except in a weak moment I sold my 50/1.4 ASPH to finance something else, and I will have to replace it Next time I will probably buy the chrome version, unless I can find a LHSA edition for a reasonable price, not too soon.

28/50/90 is my set-up as well. I am actually selling my ZM 35 now - it's always been my least favorite focal length, despite it's convenience. I have always had difficulty making decent compositions with something that's "sort of wide."
I can understand the desire to "take one lens," but that's why fashion people invented pockets. It's not like the 50 Lux is a massive burden to carry.
I think all of these are from the 35 Cron I'm giving a go. Not the best portrait lens but it works. I can appreciate being able to shoot to crop in this situation.
I'm still in the process of moving across town. Not the most thrilling thing. I have been enjoying the M9 even though it has been sparse. On another note, I have been giving aperture a go. I have always like it in the past because of the feel, being a Mac user, I just never gave it enough time. This time around, I have spent long enough to let it get my library going it seems much more fluid than Lr.
And for whatever reason, I shot this. A picture of my black dot. You guys can put a name to the face. I guess I have been going stir crazy lately. Oh, that is the 35 Cron I am trying out as well. It is a user lens but it reminds me of my 35 ASPH that I miss so much.

Here is another from the other evening with ZM 35 f/2 Biogon. Still learning how to PP files with M9, so any work flow comments are greatly appreciated.
Zeiss glass seems to pack a real punch when it comes to those twilight shots. Well done.
Nice shots Ryan, the last one with the window shutters is superb! Love it.
Joakim, excellent B&W with the 35Cron IV. You should keep this lens, I sold mine and miss the compactness of it and now have some regrets. I think if you stop it down f/4 or thereabouts, its really quite sharp.
Corposant, nice Portra shot! What were they looking at?
Luka, more nice shots from your trip. Like how you framed the fence in #1 and also the composition on #2 with the truck.
Shawn, nice portraits and hope your move goes well. Very nice self portrait!
Wilfredo, excellent B&W shots, love the tonality, has a great analog feel! Some excellent shots over at LUF, thanks for sharing the link.

I can't live without my 35Lux ASPH, especially when I want to leave home with just the camera and one lens.
Haven't used the M9 for close to 2 weeks, been shooting film lately. These are from my June archives. M9 28Cron
Ryan, great shots with the 50 Lux shots! #3 and 6 are my favourites Like yourself and Luka, if I am going to take 3 lenses, it is the 28 Cron, 50 Lux and 75 Lux or 90 CronAA. But with a single lens only, it is the 35 Lux Asph II too
Joakim, beautiful shot! I agree with Joe, you should keep this lens, and use it some more.
Corposant, nice Porta film shot!
Shaun, nice portrait shots!
Wilfredo, thank you Excellent B&W shots. Beautiful tonality.
Joe, very nice shots!!! Love the use of shadows and lighting, and colour too
Luka, more excellent shots!!! I like #3 of set 1 with the ZM 18, and I love the shots with the 28 and 90 Cron There is an amazing richness with the 28 Cron shots!
Wilfredo - nice shots from Manzanar. Great conversion
Joe - excellent airport shots. Love the shadows you found....Ron would be proud
Luka - great set, but the first one of the kayakers is amazing! The sharpness and colors are perfect. Did you find any US ducks to take pictures of while over here?
More 50 Lux ASPH shots....
I've taken this shot before....but of course my favorite look has been with the 50 Lux
and here is something different for you guys....a Nikon 105 f/2.5 Leica screw mount lens on the M9. It is the same formula as the F mount 105 f/2.5 (which I loved) Sonnar type. It is unbelievabley sharp wide open...really. The one thing I don't like is how the focus ring moves when you change the aperture...you need to hold the focus ring to change the aperture which sucks as it is a very cumbersome process. Little things like that certainly make you appreciate the more expensive Leica lenses. I haven't done any formal testing or anything, just some shots of my daughter before our walk last night. Shots wide open:
