Nice "street" shot KL I prefer the color version on the 2nd shot. The hints of red on the scarf, train lights and billboard goes well with the warm tones and kind of adds to the story? Have you considered dialing down the exposure or burning some of the highlights on the B&W version?
Nice set Ryan, you make me appreciate everyday objects that I would just walk pass by.
Geno - I like the conversion you did on the last one. Nice deep blacks
Malkovic - Great scenes. #2 looks great, I think #3 is a tad too 'purple'
I forgot....I found something this weekend for the first time here in Savannah....DUCKS!!!! And tons of them. Ducks and geese galore! I know where to go with my new lenses now . I had to try a little luck with my 50 Lux II
We started feeding a few and then these guys came....
Luka - I really like the colors on #2. On my screen - the colors in the sky look too turquoise in #3 like the hue/luminance needs to be adjusted. Like Joe said, I think #4 is a tad too saturated. Looks like you were fighting some really harsh lighting
Thanks, Joe & Ryan. Yeah, lighting was problematic in the shots - what looks like oversaturation are really mostly blown highlights. The boats were in shadow while the background was strongly illuminated.
KL, love these shots! Definitely prefer the colour version All the warm colours in the right part of the shot and adds to the feel.
With respect to the shot of the shop, my feeling would really be on how the person reacts. Normally if I take shot while travelling, I may take the shot under the same circumstances, but the body language will give you an immediate clue as to whether is appropriate or not. Many times just a quick chat, may lead to some better shots
Ryan, excellent set of shots! I love the lighting and colours with the 50 Lux II.
Malkovic, nice simple compositions! I think the size of your shots presented may not do justice. I really like #2
Luka, very nice shots! Love #1 and 2. Yes I agree with #4. It looks like the magenta edging issue coming into play, particularly since the lens is wide open at f/2.0
Yeah, that's a tough situation Luka. With the M9 I've been exposing for the sky and opening the foreground areas in post, though you can only do so much before the file starts to fall apart. One-two stops, as you know is not a problem. But considering some of the scenes are more like 4-5 stops darker than a normal direct sun exposure.....
I really like #1 and kind of guessed it was the 90 before looking. Great light and tone.
Ryan - so many good images! The B&W of the pipes/conduits stands out for me
KL - I like the merchant photo. Not sure if it falls in the traditional street category, but does it matter? I prefer the B&W of the train station. Maybe you could sepia tone it to retain that warmth? I agree though that the middle area in the B&W needs to be burned down a bit, or worked on with some more contrast. I personally don't like sodium vapor type lighting. It's such a strong orange cast. Nice to see in Luka's intense night images that he has a mix of mercury vapor to work with as well..
Malkovic - nice selection, particularly the urban images on the previous page.
Gregory - excellent selection of interesting people, animals and vehicles!
Thanks everyone for your comments.
Some more from Geneva:
The above image was taken right at noon, and the one below about 50 minutes later... time for lunch!
M9 & ZM50P for all except the third which was the ZM35C
I still have my D3s for event work, have not totally switched yet but I do love the compact factor of the M9 and of course, the glass... High IQ is also a plus and stealth shooting...
Ron, excellent shots!!! My favourite is #2
Juano, superb set of shots! Love the #1, how the sculpture looks down at the little girl, and how all the lines, line up on the sinister diagonal. And great portrait of the old man

are you thinking of getting a M9 soon?
Haven't you noticed yet? I am just going to keep buying your leftovers! When are you going to ditch your M9?
Very nice Ron. #2 & 3 are my favorites from this set.
Juano, welcome back! Great set!! Hard to pick a favorite, all good. Love the B&W tonality on these as well.
Ryan, loving your shots with the 28Cron. Another nice set!
Gregory, nice set! 5 & 6 are my favorites on this set. Are you shooting the M9 next to your huge arsenal of Nikon gear?
Charles, thank you.... i appreciate the comment
Gary, so that was your plan all along? hehe, not selling anything for awhile... I will be going to Manila on late July though maybe we can shoot together?
Ryan, thanks... looks like you are really enjoying the 28cron, great stuff man...
Gregory, thanks... Great set as well, my favorite is the girl with the yellow vest
