Luka, excellent series of shots! I really like #2 with the 50 Lux.
Phil, beautiful shot! I am really taken by the rendering with the 50 Nocti
Ron, last portrait by the lake is superb. Beautiful lighting and how face is highlighted
Gregory, very nice set. I love the energy in your shots!
Malkovic, nice set. I really like the last shot of the tram!
Gregory, more nice shots with the 50 Noct 1.0! How did Herbie end up in Canada?
KL, excellent set!! Love the headless man shot! Good catch.
Phil, nice color shot on the windows with the 50 Noct 1.0! Also like the B&W conversion on the vertical shot, really nice.
Ron, very nice shots on the steps in Geneva. I prefer the ones with a person in them Nice play of geometry and shadows. That sunset shot ove Lake Geneva is simply superb. Love it!
Luka, excellent set, I like the 2nd 50Lux shot with the brook best.
Malkovic, I like the 3rd shot with the tram best.
Ryan, good catch on the finger pointing and how did those shoes end up there?
Phil, Ron, Malkovic, Charles, Ryan & Joe, thanks for the comments
Phil, I did some devignetting on the last shot, but apart from resize & resharpen and a couple of minor exposure adjustements I don't think I did any additional PP to the other images.
Ryan, great moment captured! Very nice shots!
Malkovic, nice graffiti shots
Luka, you obviously have a lot of luck coming your way! Very nice shot! I really do like the way the 28 Cron captures colours and details like in the clouds
Speaking of the 28 Cron, I did a little experiment today. Usually with night shots you get very intense colors. The 28 Cron produces very intense colors. Mixing those two must result in some kind of color overload.. I had to try it, and well, it didn't disappoint.
That was fun, but I can't help but to conclude again that the M9 really isn't a good tool for the these type of shots. In city night scenes you typically have patches of strong highlights which the M9 sensor can't handle and that can't be recovered . Furthermore there's the mandatory noise reduction pass that you can't turn off and that doubles the time to take a shot. Given the imprecise framelines you often have to take a couple of shots before getting the composition dead on - and with the added noise reduction pass that takes time.
Luka - excellent series! 1 and 2 are fantastic! The colors are awesome. I agree, night shooting with the M9 is a pain in the ass. Though the two times I have I loved the results
Luka, wow...need sunglasses to view the colours. Great set of shots! Yes, like yourself and Ryan, I fine it frustrating waiting for the noise correction, but the results are worth it, and the added benefit of carrying very little gear. At the moment, I have no choice, but the M9
Luka, nice saturated colors. #2 is my favorite. Agree that if you want to use a tripod, live view helps plus the M9 is not exactly ideal for high ISO shots. I think you need to consider a 0.95 for low light photography Am curious, how did you meter for these long exposures on the M9?
The cut away sections make me appreciate what goes into these lenses. I sure don't want to drop mine on the floor!
Tx for all the kind words everyone!
My this thread really moves quick - Great shots all - a shout out to:
Luka- wow! 28 cron at night on a tripod - This is it...where's my wallet! Oh, i forgot, it has been impounded!
Ryan - great pics too - great style you hvae
Ron - gorgeous shots! The lake shot is my fav
Malkovich- nice shots!
Phil - those noct shots are marvellous!
I must have missed a ton of others - it's not my fault that this thread moves so fast!
I have a question: Is this considered Street Photography?
It's a shot of a storekeeper eating his snack whilst chatting with is pal. Taken with a 50 Summicron LTM edition. The shop is visible from the street (public area) but his shop i guess is not quite 'public area'. What do you all think?
I re-PPed this shot into B&W - prefer it to colour?
