Denoir, amazing work! Man look at those colours the reds are amazing. I also wanted to see some 90 f2 and there it is on your last post. So nice!!
Charles! I just tried to add you on Facebook!
Gregory, man keep posting that Noctilux f1 man. Love the rendering.
I did something crazy today. I sold My M8u and my 35mm Cron ASPH and just ordered the 35mm Summilux APSH 2. I am so pumped. You guys pushed me over the edge hahaha.
The last time I was in Munich a couple months ago, I noticed that a small shop at the back of city hall had a 24mm M series lens on display in the window... I don't remember the price and I kind of think it was the Elmarit rather than the Elmar, but not 100% sure. The shop is called Foto Reiter
I have heard good things about Isarfoto but have not yet visited them, in part due to the inconvenience of their non-central location (I guess I could take the S-Bahn) and also I already have a lot of photo equipment
Luka, thanks for the explanation. I'm also curious whether you're getting any corner color shifts with the 28 Cron using the proper coding.
Someone I follow on Flickr recently got an M9 and isn't happy with the color shift when using the ZM18 and asked if it's the same problem with the Leica 18 or 21 when using the correct in-camera codes... anyone know? IIRC Corey Silken uses the Leica 18... but we haven't heard from him in a while.
Great set from the parade! Back in May of 2002 I was in Norway for the wedding of a couple friends. It was around the time of Norway's Constitution Day, which involves a huge parade of school children. Both friends are teachers and I was invited to participate in the huge Oslo parade. Slightly different age group than these engineers but it was a lot of fun and these images remind me of that experience.
Greg - love that shot, including your reflection. Very subtle!
Yes, columns...
First two are ZM21, then ZM50P, 35C (which I managed to get to flare nicely here) and the 50 again.
These two are similar to a couple I posted a couple months ago... ZM50P and CV75, both wide open
Man you guys are putting out some awesome stuff! Phil, love those 50 Noct shots! Luka, great parade shots! I see a different style of you in those shots . Ron, Gregory, Charles, Malkovic all great work!
To go with Luka's BIF...I have another B(bee)IF . First 5 with 90 Elmarit-M
35 Lux ASPH
35 Lux ASPH Wide open. Didn't mean to shoot him wide open...just turned around and saw him and focused as fast as I could before he got away

Thanks Ron Love your take of the tree trunk with the 75 CV and the column galore
Luka, impressive charts Nice set with the parade! The first and second last shot (with the large crowd) are my favorites from this set.
Malkovic, love the colors from the Portra400, nice shots! My favs are #1 & #3 from the second set.
Joakim, very nice B&W with the classic 35CronIV!
Charles, another nice street shot! Like the framing and how you caught the look of the man on the right.
Gregory, another nice shot with the 50Noct 1.0!
Phil, very nice set! I really like the rendering on this lens. Beautiful!
LL, nice shot with the 75Cron.
Ryan, excellent shots of the bee! The first 35Lux shot is my favorite from this set.

Congrats Tobin! I take it that you now have a M9? Share some pics soon!

hi all,
Just a quick request for recommendations of film/neg/slide scanners - have received an M2 on long-term loan, figured i should get a scanner to go along with it.
Tx!

If you plan to shoot medium format go for Nikon Coolscan 9000 or a flatbed such as Epson 700/750. If all you plan to scan are 35mm negatives, any of the Nikon Coolscans are good. Else consider a Plustek 7600i but this one is manual feed. The flatbeds are not as good for 35mm negatives. I have the Plustek with Silverfast and its pretty good but SLOW.
Luka, Ryan, Joe, LL and Phil, thanks
Gregory, nice shot! I do like the gentle rendering, and your reflection
Luka, great series from the parade!! I love the shot of the crowd with the 28 Cron. The depth and colours are amazing.
Ron, really nice shots, every shot with a column Great lighting!
Phil, very nice shots with the 50 Nocti! #2 is my favourite.
LL, great portrait shot with 75 Cron!!
Ryan, excellent action shots of Bee'sIF I really like the rendering and conversion of the B&W shot of the water lilly.
Thanks guys, it's hard to keep up with this thread. So much awsome work getting posted.
I appologize for not mentioning everyone by name who comments on my work. But I want to say I really apprecaite it.
Today was the first day the M9 and me started to connect. I switch to the soft shutter mode and went all manual and just ignored the meter. Happy as a clam. I am really starting to love this camera.
jojomon11: Thanks A bit odd, isn't it Also love the tonality on all of your shots. I think i prefer the b&w over the colored one but I'm not sure. Both are great! The second set is also very nice!
rsolti13: Thanks! That first one of yours is really awesome.
joe88: Thanks!
NikkorAIS: Lovely set.
The 'main event' of the trip to Dortmund, didn't go there just to stroll around. Football, or as some prefer to call it soccer
Thanks very much guys, I knew going in the color palete of the M9 was intense, but it really is... beyond.
I wonder how much I am missing by post processing in I-photo?
Anyways I still got the the raw files.
I am feeling much better/confindent about the exposer with M9. It's funny, Iv gone back looking at the light and guessing. The sunny 16 rule is still relevant and usefull tool. It's funny how M system makes me go back to the basics.
However, I do have a digtial meter coming from my pal Chase and look forward to woking with it and the M9.
Greg - no need for a light meter when shooting digital, at least if you have a moment to do a test shot or two and check the histogram. On sunny days I know with the M9 the exposure will be 1/500 f/8, or a similar combination, @ ISO 160.
The M9 comes with a free license for Lightroom. You should try it.
Very interesting set, as always!
Thanks guys for you kind comments!
Phil, love both of the last few posts. The B&Ws are very moody, but I think I prefer the clock in color.
Ryan, nice colors!
LL - great portrait with the 75!
KL - wow, great set. #3 is brilliant, IMHO! Also very much like #2. At first glance it's like - where's his head?
After using up all my column shots (for now), it's back to old town Geneva for a few:
lovely pictures on this thread, I am in particular taken with the 28 cron! A neat comparison of leica 28, zm 25 and the distagon, Luka! great work you have put in it! Would be also interesting to see all three lenses on the same chart together, but it might be harder to do. I wonder if there is a way to measure colour as well? The leica seems outstanding in this regard. Sharpness-wise Zeiss holds the edge - at lest at 40 lp/mm which I paid more attention to.
KL, amazing shots!!! #1 the lighting is outstanding. #3 is truly a classic shot!!
Phil, very nice colours. I really like this shot of the windows! The B&W has great tonality.
Ron, superb set of shots! Love the compositions and the range of tones. My favourite is #3
Ryan, nice closeups with the 90 and skillful capture of the bee. And yeah, parades aren't exactly my cup of tea
Phil, lovely shots with the 50 Noct.
Gregory, very nice deep colors.
Malkovic, #2 is a really good demo of the dynamic range of film.
KL, wow! Awesome set. Love every single one of the pictures. Just perfect!
Ron excellent set! Love the compositions and the textures. Regarding the 28 Cron & color shift - yes, it produces a fairly strong red edge. There is a new firmware for the M9 that is supposed to be released any day now that will address the color shift issue for coded Leica lenses.
Phil - I love what you are doing with the 50 Noct. Very special lens
Gregory - great set. My favorite is the 50 Noct dump truck perfectly positioned like it will dump over the house
Malkovic - great shots. That color film looks awesome! My favorites are #1 & #3.
KL - great set. The headless man is a fantastic shot. I really like that one a lot! Great composition on that one.
Ron - columns or not I can always use some more shots from Geneva from you. Looks like a place I definitely want to go to. My manager goes there quite a bit for business....maybe I can sneak a trip in
Luka - great set. It is VERY hard to control myself with the 50 Lux ASPH. That lens looks like unreal. The first one is my favorite. I really miss the .7m mfd at 50 with the Lux II. Not to mention the all around sharpness at f/1.4 as well
Ryan - if you like this old style look, and you're in the Geneva area, then I would suggest you take a 30 minute train trip over to Lausanne. I'll return to those photos once the Geneva pool runs dry. Lausanne is a smaller, more intimate city with very interesting geography. I enjoyed it more, but it might also have been because I was in Lausanne on a cool, overcast Sunday and it was nearly empty. Great for wandering around (I love going out on Sunday city tours for this reason). Meanwhile Geneva was on a sunny weekday and very busy. It's a much more spread-out city, (the "old" part that you've seen from me is in a relatively small area) and appears to have quite a range of interesting modern architecture as well. But I mostly saw its modern side from the tram. Partway through the day my GF and I got tired and decided to head back to our friend's place in Vevey and have a nice bbq instead... We were also tired of the relatively high prices in Switzerland. So, if you're looking for this kind of urban environment, I can advise that you will find similar in France, Germany, Austria, Italy, etc... at somewhat more reasonable prices (if that matters to you). Another option is to take a flight up to Quebec City or Montreal for a similar, though much smaller taste of old Europe.
Back in Vevey enjoying the last of the sunset over Lake Geneva before the bbq. M9 & ZM50P
Phil - I like both of those. The B&W has a very nice feel.
Luka - very nice set. The second to last, of the cut tree, I didn't expect it to be from the 28... it doesn't feel like a wide angle photo! Great perspective in the last image.
