One of the wonderful things about Parma are the music schools. They are World famous and attract students from around the World. I love the energy of bright young people (no generational disappointment from me). I often go by to visit them and learn their stories. Yesterday, I was watching this door to one of the main studio/classroom buildings. This amazing young man emerged and I made this image. He also agreed to sit for the B&W portrait. Turns out he was from the historic city of Mantova only about 1 1/2 hour away. I spent a wonderful 45 minutes chatting with him and a small group of friends. All from different Countries, all studying different instruments and musical genres. All bright and gleefully immersing themselves in an endeavour that all acknowledged would likely keep them poor for life. Such youthfully optimism is the closest we seniors get to a real fountain of youth. I left with high spirits, and felt years younger. This is also why I love teaching/attending University classes.

No problem fixed it. I am also half Italian, a Citizen, and living in Parma, but a bad speller and typer. I was just in Mantova 3 weeks ago and I still misspelled it. !
