This morning with the M11P and 35 APO. I normally use the 35 APO with the M11M, don't recall ever using it with the M11P.

A couple of images from yesterday on the streets of Parma.

The young woman in the first image enjoyed having her picture take, People in parma are special in that way. I was sitting at this patch of interesting light waiting for good subjects to walk through it. We don't know each other at all. But we had a fun moment together.

This man saw my Leica when I was out shooting. He commented that it was his dream camera. It turns out that he is a professional photographer currently working full time as the Mayor of Parma's official photographer. We are now friends.

The third images is the original spontaneous attitudes these girls showed when they first noticed me taking their picture. The one in the above B&W squealed turned around and walked through again. They were just having fun. You gotta love the Italian girls. They are special!

All images taken with my M11`, 35mm Summilux ASPH FLE CF II

From the LA archives, back in 2023 during a walk with Huss. Apparently there is a story or some significance to the tricycle locked to the pole in Venice... Google Streetview shows it's still there. 45 Market Street.

Ron, the image with the skateboarder is so fun and playful. I love it. Is it fully spontaneous or did you have him skateboard through the scene. Either way beutifully executed.

Haha, thanks! I saw him coming down the sidewalk, lined up the shot early because it was already kind of tight with the 50 from where I was standing and he glided through holding that pose. So it was spontaneous but he hammed it up as it was pretty hard not to notice me standing in the street pointing a camera in his direction. I just had to nail the timing, which with the M I'm pretty confident and consistent. Had it been with mirrorless I would have machine gunned it.

Here's another 'skateboarder on the sidewalk photo' just down the street and five minutes before that one. Pointing finger courtesy of Huss. I don't remember exactly but he was probably saying 'over there is a tricycle chained to a pole that has been there for awhile...'

Also M240 & 50 Lux ASPH

That qualifies as a legitimate non posed image. Congratulations you timed and framed everything perfectly. I would print that one if I ever got that lucky.

Thanks Steve! I'm not really a 'street' photographer in the traditional sense, but enjoy when these kinds of spontaneous moments happen. I'm also really enjoying your Parma street portraits! You seem to have a knack for interacting with your subjects and evoking genuine responses from them.

A few with Huss in LA's Chinatown, 2023. Two artists at work. M240 & 50 Lux ASPH.

Thanks for the kind words. Spending time shooting with Huss is bound to be a great time. He is a wonderful person.

Parma is a special place. It is like living in a painting. If you are ever in Europe you are invited to come and we will shoot together. Plenty of room at the house. Free room and board.

I put a challenge to myself. Took 4 different cameras each with 1 lens with a FOV of 45-50mm. The plan start with 1 camera shoot 7 different subjects, each subject could be shot from various angles then move onto the next camera and 7 new subjects. Lots of walking. I started with the M8 and 35MM FLE II.

The 4th and final camera used was M9M and 50mm Lux. The other 2 were GFX 100II with Coastal Optics 60 and Canon R5 and Otus 50mm. The GFX pictures and R5 will be posted on their appropriate thread.

Sorry I mistakenly posted these portraits in the wrong thread. I am now reposting here.

A couple of street portraits from today.

First is the lovely server who brought me my lunch panini today. She was so bright and cheerful. Sandwich was amazing too.

I also ran into this amazing man out on the street by the famous Teatro. Turns out he is a very famous Italian photographer who has a studio here in Parma. We became fast friends. I am looking forward to spending more time with him.

Even the Carabinieri here have that Italian style and Dolce Vita going on.

Brings a smile to your face when you see them in your rear view mirror. No ticket!

Yesterday had an abbreviated photography session so only two images. One street portrait of a man this commonly sits at a cafe near home. The other of an arched walkway leading to a statue in a mixed use building. Many of the elegant buildings have such beautiful features and passageways. One of the things that make living here special, enjoyable and artistically inspiring.

Both with the SL3 and 50mm SL-APO Summicron.
