At Leica's lower end of the resolution scale is the little and convenient D-Lux 8. I took this camera out when traveling with the family group over New Years. After a fun day visiting the Ferrari Museum and facilities we stopped in a great restaurant in the historic section of Modena that served the typical Modena dishes. Excellent. Our server was this cheerful, beautiful and exptic Morrocan girl. This shot wide open in low light resulting in an ISO of 12,500. The little sensor handled it just fine in my opinion.

Leica M11, 21mm SEM
you had me with dog in picture, but then taken with the always fun 21 SEM - jackpot! Every time I take that lens for a spin and see the quirky perspectives it creates, it puts a smile on my face and makes me wonder why I don't use it more often.

Maybe we think alike because I am a native born citizen of the Conch Republic. Yes, the 21mm SEM is one of my favorite lenses. It never fails to put a unique perspective on a subject. Somehow it manages to do it in a believable way that is not cartoonish as some super wides produce.

No, I am in my home in Parma Italy right now which is my primary residence these days. I keep homes in Parma Italy, La Jolla California, and Missoula Montana. If you get out this way I would love to get together and shoot some.
This evening the Olympic Torch passed in front of my house. There were a lot of the Italian Olympic Team running along side of it on its way to Milan. A large number of local residents turned out to cheer everyone on This section a wonderful woman in a mobility chair was chosen to carry the torch. It was a very nice event.
I wanted to keep things reliable and simple so I choose to use my SL3 with the small Sigma 40mm f/2.0 contemporary AF lens. This gives me a very Q3 like shooting experience. I also used the small and convenient manual Godox iM30 flash. Everything worked out well.

Too funny! My son lives there . . . further north between Johnson and Stinson but he works right near Uncle Frankies. I had some time to kill after we had lunch (Ideal Diner) so I strolled around a abit.
