I'll check the case out although I don't think I have that many lenses (or cameras) as you do That first shot with the 28Cron is very nicely taken and great timing! On the 3rd shot, I might have a slight preference if the top lines on the balcony were level, but nevertheless, nice colors, sharpness and textures.

The third shot is a 2D version of the 'folded perspective'. The wide angle is used to capture a series of diverging lines that one intuitively feels should be parallel, but in the image they are not.
Ryan, thanks Another really nice set of shots! IMO, I really do like the PP signature to your shots.
Joe, thank you Nice capture. I like the angle of the shadows.
Luka, interesting stuff!! Really nice shots! Love #1, the timing and tension the shot creates. I really like #2, with the angle and the stairs/shadows in the foreground
Ryan, yes, your more recent images feel more lively, and this set is also another excellent one.
Nice shot Joe, good luck with the computer!
Luka, good timing on the first one and if find the shadow pattern on the steps in the second image very intriguing. Had I been there I probably would have spent a lot of time trying to figure out a composition. And your third image somewhat reminds me of this one from Lausanne:
M9 & ZM35C
I agree about your assessment of 28mm being in a transition zone. I'm still unsure about it myself, as it's not a focal length I've been attracted to in the past. But there have been times when 35 wasn't wide enough on the M9 and 21 was way too wide... Logically it would make a better complement to a lens set including 21mm & 50mm. I have tried the ZM28 and was quite impressed with it...
Ron, well you are the master of precisely the type of compositions I would like to explore more. I'm a habitual rules of third addict - it comes automatically but I'd like to break that habit and try some more layered compositions. Or more precisely, I'm a habitual 'sectarian' I divide things into sectors, so I usually end up with some form of rules of thirds or triangle composition with diagonal relationship between the elements of the images. What I would like to learn to do better - and that you do really well - is to work more with planes in 3D rather than just 2D relationships on the projected image.
Great shot by the way! And a good example of the type of thing that I mean - the arrows on the road are in a different plane (in real 3D space) than the wall and the container.
As for 28 mm lenses, I have not discussed my opinions of the 28 Cron all that much, but man, what a lens! The color rendering is unbelievable on occasion bordering on what I think an LSD induced hallucination might look like. I've never seen anything like it. It also excels at rendering fine detail and at f/5.6 it's just perfect for landscapes. That was a pleasant discovery as I've never been completely pleased with 35 Lux ASPH for stopped down landscape photography.
Anyway, I promised the formal duck shots, so here are two:
As a bonus, a 'honorary duck' - a grey heron (I think). I've seen this type of bird once or twice before but they've always flown away almost immediately after spotting me. This one too, but I had time enough to switch to the 90 Cron and take the shot.
Some assorted 28 Cron shots with typical conventional compositions. Believe it or not, but I have not adjusted the colors. They are this absurdly saturated. I only adjusted exposure a bit in one or two shots, added a bit of fill light on one and did a contrast adjustment on another:
Normally I would have reduced the saturation somewhat in the shot above, but I left it just to show how deeply saturated colors it can produce.

I am glad that you like it. The 28 Cron is a lens I was not sure if I should recommend to you or not, because the "magic" in the rendering is very subtle compared to the 35 and 50 Lux ASPHs. It is very sharp, and very competent. I had originally ordered the 28 Elmarit ASPH, but while waiting for it to arrive, I was studying the MTFs, and I realized that the 28 Cron was probably noticeably better in the corners on FF, so I switched my order. The 28 Elmarit did arrive and I played with it. Nice lens, but a little contrasty for my taste.
For me, 28/50/90 was my planned kit, all ASPH. However, I find myself balking at the prospect of selling my 35 Lux ASPH, and I on occasion also need a wide, so the thinking is not done.
Thanks Charles Joakim, nice shots from NYC - they do seem a bit familiar though

28/50/90 is a great three-piece set. I've been shooting with that now for a couple of days and it pretty covered all my FL needs. However, if I was to go out and shoot with just one lens, the 35 Lux ASPH would be my choice. This is because:
A) You can basically shoot anything except wildlife and sports with a 35. It's really a really useful focal length.
B) 35mm is ideal on the M9 - the 35mm frame lines are the best. They cover a large portion of the viewfinder but with enough room on the sides.
C) It's a fast lens, great for low-light situations.
For those reasons, the 35 Lux ASPH is the last lens I'd sell.
Joakim, very nice set of shots! Excellent lines and angles
Liquidpics, nice shot!
Ron, great set of shots! Love the composition in all of them Excellent play of shadows in the first three shots.
Yes, I have been doing a lot more PP with my shots lately to make them more lively. That combined with the 28 Cron I think are making a big difference. The lens is that lively. Plus, it pays to know how to use the software
Joe - nice shot with the Nokton. Do you still have that lens? Just buy a mac and be done with it
Luka - very nice composition on #1. Your second set is excellent. My favorite is actually the red building which you did practically no PP on. I also really like the 3rd to last shot with the sun setting behind the tree. I love this lens. I am very glad to hear you like it as well.
Ron - Nice bicycle shots. I like #2 & #4. You have such a great eye for unique compositions. They really work!
Joakim - nice shots from NYC. You can spend days in Central Park and never get the same shot twice. My sister lives down near the Brooklyn Bridge and is moving to London for a year...I may have a place to stay all to myself
Well...what else...more 28 Cron shots
90 Elmarit-M
6 shot pano
and....a bird house pic. Different days, but here are the differences in rendering and colors with the 28 Cron and 35 Lux. 28 Cron at f/2 and 35 Lux at f/1.4. Both had roughly the same PP done to them. I know...not the most accurate of tests but I want to show the difference in color and how the 28 Cron seems to hold the colors a LOT better than the 35 Lux
Dumb question, probably suited for another thread but is there a way to get to your last unread message rather than start at the end and scroll backwards?
Wow, this thread keeps on giving/and poisoning! Wow, the 28 cron really cooks! Gorgeous gorgeous shots everyone - the last few pages have been wonderful viewing. Ron, love the lake shot, luka - as always, the pics from your camera simply jump out of the screen, the new 28 cron ones are amazing.Charles, love the evening shots too with the 28 cron. Anyone looking to buy a 28 Elmarit ? Just kidding - no more lenses for the moment.
I just got my 35 Lux ASPH V1. Loving the rendition. Sharp and dreamy (to me) at the same time. Quite different from the 50 ASPH to my newbie eyes. Am loving the size/weight and how it feels on the M9. Very lovely and I can see myself using this FL for the whole day with ease. Finding it a challenge to use but will start practising ASAP. Here are some pics:

I have the 28 Elmarit - the results from the 28 Cron are great, but the one thing the Elmarit has on the Cron is size and VF blockage...
Ryan, really nice shots! There is quite a difference between your 28 Cron and 35 Lux shot. Maybe the newer 35 Lux II, may have more colour, but at the expense of the more gentle rendering and traditional glow.
KL, thanks Superb shots!! Just love #2. Congrats on the 35 Lux I
Malkovic, very nice shot!

Ryan, wow that is a difference between the 28 Cron and 35 Lux. Sorry to be yet another to ask, but do you have the 35 Lux pre-ASPH, or ASPH version? I know you've stated it before, but I'm loathe to dig back through the thread to find it... Anyway, would it make much of a difference between the two compared to the 28 Cron?
KL, love the series. I'm especially drawn to the concert hall. I could spend a day photographing something like that. The person walking under the bridge (with the lone pigeon) and the scooter also stand out nicely.
Nice selection joakim. I love NYC but actually found it difficult to photograph with the Leica the first time around. Not sure exactly why, but I think a lot of what I 'see' in NYC tends to lend itself more to longer lens compositions, perhaps due to the size of the buildings, streets, etc. Yet in more intimate European cities I'm very comfortable with the M... It could also be that in NYC I'm just in sensory overload mode and have more difficulty picking out what I think I'm seeing in potential compositions.
Good one Malkovic - that sure is a lot of graffiti!
A bunch from the old part of Geneva:
All M9 & ZM35C. The last one is cropped a bit, probably closer to around 50mm field of view, and is a favourite. I also like the third with the Audi Q5 lurking around the corner from the bike like some strange anime creation that doesn't quite fit in with overall linearity of the elements around it. I really love the detail in the curtains, best visible in the full rez version.
