Something of the downed trees from the tornado last week. The extensive damage will likely be well documented for posterity and history by vast many others ... so, I've not been so inclined to capture it from a damage perspective solely. Instead, a bit of "life goes on" ... as the cycle of things comes around, as we keep moving on ... waxing philosophically with my lens, if that makes any sense.
And, that folks haven't forgotten how to have a little fun, along the way, too.

Behind the scenes of an epic selfie (with some help from a friend)
I opted to throw away all normalcy when trying to capture this shot through a window. The heck with the spots on the window and framing maybe a half camera would have been the tool to use.
Alas after several shots time was not on my side as the park was closing and I had a few more buildings to explore.
Was looking for that real old look of a damaged image without resorting using post filters, the window helped but needed more time. Oh well something to try next time I visit the place.

My Wife Denise and I have been busy these past 4 days setting up our new home in Parma, Italy. So much to do I haven't had time to go out a shoot much yet. Things are moving along at an Italian pace, which means slowly. All our furniture vendors have of course missed their deadlines for delivery. Thank God for IKEA where we can just pick some minor things up. We are having to stay in a hotel until the beds, couches, chairs, and tables arrive. In the meantime we doing our part to boost the EU economy. !
Today we are heading down to Bologna for lunch and to visit the Leica Store there. In the mean time here are a few images I managed to shoot around time as we went out to get supplies or eat.
Parma is a lovely town. It has a large University, and a deep history of arts and culture. There will be no shortage of interesting subjects and projects to photograph here.
Steve, congratulations on your new place in Parma. I'm jealous. We just got back from visiting Florence and a week long Italian cooking school in Montefollonico. I did not want to go back home.

I am glad you enjoyed Italy. That picture is only one block from our Florence home. We are directly on the river.

I took that picture from our 3rd floor hotel room window. Lots of interesting things going on all day and all night. The early morning bridal shoots on the bridge were entertaining too.
