Malkovic - do you really have that much snow, still? I like the perspective on #1
Gregory - nice shots. Like the up close and personal on #2
Morfeus - nice series. Colors look great! My favorite is #6
Much thanks, Charles and Joe. I can't imagine (maybe I can) how bad the AF and other quirks the X1 had pre-firmware fix, because the AF isn't bad (quite accurate) but on the other hand the X1 needs either high iso when using low shutter speeds < 1/125 or a tripod because it's just doesn't do well in the hands of anyone but a neuro-surgeon I guess (IS I also find to be rather useless in this camera).
Thanks a lot Luka! I think I will keep the lens and follow Charles advice and send it to Leica to have it checked. If I would return this lens to my dealer I probably had to wait a long time to get a new one.
Charles, great images of a great model. My favorites are the last one of the second series and both images of the third series.
Now, as for you both, I don't have anything more nice to say to you. I blame you two entirely for the fact that I ordered the 28 Summicron today. When I fling myself off a building after complete financial ruin, the last words to pass my lips will be a curse directed at you two!

No problem. I agree with Charles that it's probably the best solution.
A word of caution though - if it is a complex problem then it can take a long time for Leica to fix them. Charles waited several months to get the focusing ring on his 90 Cron fixed. Also there is no guarantee that they'll actually fix it. I recently got back my 75 Summicron that was in for repairs of the aperture ring. They fixed it but for some reason they also made adjustments to the focusing mechanism and botched it. As the focus is correct at MFD and at infinity but the lens front focuses at a focusing distance of 5-10 meters.
This was the second time the 75 Cron was back in Solms. It looks like it will have to be at least a third time.

You know --- The 21/Summilux would pair perfectly with that 28 Summicron of yours.
one for daytime use and one for night time
