That is just fantastic. I’ve just got a Summicron 50mm ‘Rigid’ (which came with the M3 that I bought earlier this year), which I’ll hopefully have a chance to use in the (Scottish) Highlands soon, but so far it seems great. None of my Leica lenses were bought new, and I have absolutely no inclination to spend £4,000 (UKP), for instance, on a brand new lens, when I can buy some that will give me just as much enjoyment for less than half (and sometimes less than a quarter) of that.
And, yes, I agree, what your 40/2 does here is amazing. The subject matter helps just a tiny bit, too, mind you ….
