Went to visit the resident eagles last night. A rare siting to catch mom and dad away from the nest. They were both on guard after the aggressive juvenile arrived.

Wait a second... so you can actually use the SL2s on a wild bird?
JK... While I would pull my Nikon's out first, when I had the SL2s and 100-400 Vario-Elmar, I was quite pleased with some of the owl photos I made with it...
I really would like Leica to have Sigma produce their 500 f5.6 in Leica clothes. With the improvements to the SL3S AF system, I'd give that kit a shot, as I love the UI of the SL-Series bodies.

Ha. I just picked up the 100-400 recently, at a killer price. If it weren’t for the eagles I wouldn’t have even considered. I went into MF mode to ensure accurate focus.
I love the SL2-s for M lens conversion. I shoot high school headshots for drama//theater with Mandler’s 90 Cron on it and love it. I also have the outstanding 24-90 zoom and 35 APO-SL, and love them both.
I suspect the 3-S is in my future as a pre-owned replacement. I never buy digital new.

M11M + Summilux 35 FLE I
Daylight with yellow filter
2nd photo has noise reduction, taken at 100,000 ISO and had ugly wave patterns in the blacks
And yes, that's a cat (no leash) crossing the street at the Louvre
