Thanks, everyone! I was at this spot with my tripod and modern lenses, but when the light got good, I grabbed my M-D and took this one handheld with the 50mm f/1.4 wide open. Ever since, I've gotten into the habit of doing that and now always bring my M-D along with either the Leica 35mm f/1.4 Lux or 50mm f/1.4 Lux (both pre-asph) for handheld, wide-open landscape shots. It's a fun, different more dreamy look.

I completely get this.. I'm heading out for a 6:00 am meetup to photograph elephant seals this morning. My Z9 w/ 400 f2.8TC and Z8 w/ 24-120 f4 are packed and ready to go, but I also tucked the M9 w/ Voigt 50mm f1.5 in the bag, bc you never know when that may be "just the right tool"

Beautiful morning here in Minnesota . . . so long as you're inside. Out there, it's currently -14 and feels like -33F. I invite all my friends in southern CA to come on out for a visit!

This is how I remember winters on Lake Vermillion ice fishing with my dad Bob!
Back then there were no "cabins" on the ice. You braved the cold and ice sitting on a pop bottle wooden case or milk bottle wooden box. They delivered milk back then!

Hanging out waiting for the male to arrive for the mating spectacle. Had the 135 (11851) on the M10-R, but quickly pulled the M8.2 with 40 Cron when I heard the geese.
