Ryan, thanks! Yes it always seem to be raining in the back ground If you look at the other shots, it is sunny, with just a few clouds around. I try and avoid the high contrast and harsh lighting when I can.
Hi Ryan. The pics are here http://gallery.lfi-online.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=lastup&cat=-8788 - through shameless self promotion (by submitting pics), I have about 18 shots on the gallery so far under the moniker "Antidotepictures". I used it more as a means of getting free feedback of my pics - if only they had a 'almost made it to the gallery' section, that would have rocked! The gallery looks a little low-resolution - looks much better on an iPad (via the LFI app).
Have a good day!
cheers

The Pinnacle says good morning:::21 Zeiss Biogon | The building behind was designed by a friend of mine. It's the largest next-generation public housing/apartments in Singapore and is right smack in the old part of the city centre. It has a rooftop garden and jogging track.
There's always a seat here:::don't mind the sun:::50 Summilux-M ASPH
Breakfast of champions:::Porridge King at Maxwell Rd Market:::21 Zeiss Biogon

KL, really nice shots Definitely prefer the colour version with the ZM 21.
#1 is my favourite, interesting contrast with the old and new
Tx Charles and Ryan. The 21mm Zeiss Biogon is very nice in my view - the colours just pop. And it's easy on the wallet. However, the 1st one i got had the 'wobbles'.
Read with interest the articles and views on the proper purpose/behaviour of a street photographer. I must say i struggle with that all the time - for one thing, I myself do not like to be photographed(!) and by now, my kids too (they call me "papa-razzi"). I like how charles puts it 'obtaining a connection/permission" - but it's hard to do that with many street shots cos you are basically witnessing it happen before your eyes. So far, i try to keep the relative 'size' of faces to a small part of the overall picture or not feature individual faces too prominently and portray a positive image of the person as much as possible, unless of course it's a portrait in which case it's best to give at least a non-verbal request to the subject.
Joe, i really like the PP on the B&W shots! very lovely tones. What lens?
Hi Charles, I stumbled upon that a while back too! very interesting and kinda hauntingly beautiful to me. She took SO many pictures... and very good ones too. Amazing!
Got my 50 Lux today. A beautiful lens. Compared to the Zeiss ZE lenses very small and lightweight. I think, when there is a M10 with lifeview (or a FF Nex) I will seriously consider this an alternative to my Canon EOS equipment.
Here is one snapshot from today. As expected, great sharpness and beautiful bokeh wide open.
Joe, that last shot of the women going up the stairs is superb!
Ryan, excellent shots - I particularly like the pipe shots. The Jesus Cleaning Kit made me smile. I also like the last two B&W shots in post #17 - very strong and simple compositions.
Joakim, interesting village life shots
Boris, congrats on getting 50 Lux ASPH - great shot!
KL, great set! My favorites are the first and the last image.
Boris - nice shot of the little one. The 50 Lux ASPH rendering is beautiful
KL - great shots! #1 & #3 are excellent! What ISO did you use in the rally shots? They look very clean
Luka - wow I really like #1. Very 3D like look to it. My 50 Lux shots were from about 2 weeks ago, I don't think I have used it since. The rendering just doesn't match the 28 Cron and 35 Lux and I find myself wanting the 50 ASPH more each day. The 50 Lux II is great for portraits but thats about it....everything else I far prefer the ASPH rendering
The more I use the 50 Lux ASPH, the more I like it. I could however say the same thing about the 35 Lux and to some extent about the 75 Cron and 90 Cron - although the 50 is in a league of its own. One of the more important reasons for it is actually the change of season. During winter I didn't get much chance of seeing the superb color rendering of Leica glass.
No, the EXIF is wrong. I accidentally left it on manual lens configuration while I was playing around with the Sonnar. I forgot to turn it back to automatic and subsequently have a bunch of 50 Lux ASPH, 35 Lux, 90 Cron and 75 Cron shots all EXIFed as the "50 Lux II"..
