Here’s a shot from the bridge at Yosemite’s Tunnel View. I captured this with an 8-second exposure using the Voigtlander 50mm f/3.5 APO, without any filters. This lens is fantastic for landscapes and takes up hardly any space or weight in my bag.

It was my first sunrise of the trip, and I had the spot all to myself! It seems like serious photographers aren’t shooting as much anymore. By 9 am, more people started to show up, but they were mostly taking selfies with minimal gear. I only spotted a few Sony shooters the entire time I was there.

Beautifully done Fred. Amazing detail and wonderfully soft colors and textures. People often need to be reminded what a perfect landscape system the Leica M 11 is. This image does so in spades. Congratulations on great image.

I shot this building a lot when I was in Iceland. Endless possibilities, and the perfect place for a Leica M camera. Nice job Bruce.

Thanks Steve... the building was a very compelling subject.

Lovely photo Fred... you were very fortunate to have the location to yourself. Quiet and solitary shooting in Yosemite is now a very rare experience.

cheers,

Thank you, everyone! Our short thanksgiving trip to Yosemite was wonderful. It had been many years since my last visit, and I had forgotten how majestic and gratifying it is to be there. I always take the kids (now 19, 16, and 13) to disconnect from the digital world and reset their minds. They loved hiking around during the day, and my girls even joined me for some serious shooting!

Beautiful! Very nicely created, and I love the glow on El Cap. Yosemite is such an amazing place. My father lived in Oakhurst so I was there often. It's been a while for me, but this is the time of year to go IMHO. The crowds are definitely down.

You know what I have enjoyed about this lens-

Shooting at 1.4 adds character to the shots, but 24mm allows for the background to still be in view. It sort of gives the best of all worlds to getting context into your shots, but maintaining that look that the wide open lux can give you.

Its worth picking up IMO!!!

Fred you are truly blessed that your kids, at those ages, still want to spend time with you and the Mrs. You sure tapped into your inner Adams. Wonderful images.
