Thanks Ryan. Unfortunately, I don't have a 50 Lux on hand to compare. My other 50s include the Voigtlander 50/1.2 (currently for sale) and the Voigtlander 50/2 APO. From all I've seen, the Thypoch should be close to the 50 Lux in many aspects so perhaps you got a bad copy. I only had the lens out for a short walk so I'm looking forward to taking through some paces.
The interesting thing is this lens was awful on my M-E (M9), not very good on my M240, but completely fine on my M10r!
I think I will try some of my other wide lenses that supposedly only work well on film.

Yes, indeed, the output of the Distagon 35 ZM is simply outstanding, and you know how to use it! Wonderful images, sir!
I think this lens is sized “just right.” (Now if I could manage to ignite some level of creative spark.) I think of such hefty lenses as being “accessory grips.” (I started Leica M shooting with a Summilux-M 50mm ASPH, which has some amount of heft, itself.)

I have the Distagon ZM and indeed it is wonderful optically. But because it blocks so much of the vf I cannot remember the last time I used it.
On an EVF camera like a Leica SL that would not be an issue.
P.s it is also wonderful on film. I really should suck it up and use it again.
