Thanks... The town is called Capitola. This is a tiny stretch that is a "signature" feature of the village. Capitola is next to Santa Cruz, CA and the location is about a mile from my home. I moved to the area in April and am just starting to "discover" little spots like this.

As a teenager I spent one whole Summer living at my Aunt's house in Capitola. I had a great time, and surfed every day. One of my favorite spots was just the South of where you picture shows near the river mouth. Wonderful little town.
Street photography often doesn't go smoothly. Not everyone is pleased to be having their picture taken is public. This woman certainly wasn't. I smiled and tried to show I meant no harm, and stopped pointing my camera at her. She smiled, nodded and walked on. No words between us were ever spoken. Had she asked I certainly would have deleted the image.
