Stopped by to visit my son dropping a new engine in his car and was able to tour his friends garage. The only complaint they had was all the wet spots I was leaving on the floor from drooling..
It's like gear head heaven...
Stunning Mark! I am left breathless on yours and everyone's Leica images here!

no, you are not correct. those are Sake casks. gifts to the relative deities in or around temples from various producers.
Thanks for sorting that out Steve. I hads a picture of them from a trip that I had labeled as rice bales. But looking closer that may be referencing another objects in the frame.

My favorite photography buddy this trip is my youngest Granddaughter Adaline. She asked for a camera for her Birthday while we were in Florence. She picked the cute little pink point and shoot camera. I must say she is a bold little photographer. We we walk around street shooting together when she sees something or someone she finds interesting she just walks right up close and takes the picture she wants. Snaps the shutter smiles, says thank you and walks away. No one ever says no, mostly they just break out laughing, and she gets some pretty interesting shots.
She is pretty good in front of the camera too. No posing this child. She knows exactly how she wants to look.

I didn't know you are a Grandpa!
To be fair, it was a shock to me when I found out I was a grandpa. At that time I didn't even know I had a daughter.
I found a new half Brother a few years ago through one of those DNA services. Always an interesting thing.
Grandchildren are a great gift. I am currently blessed with 3. Potential for more. I hope you make a point of having a relationship with yours if it is at all feasible.
The Italian Dolomites, on the Alpe Di Siusi, spring wildflowers in full bloom, rain/hail/snow moving in and out over the high peaks. Suddenly I am a landscape photographer again. The M11 with the 35mm Lux is a great kit for landscapes as well as street. You just can't miss in such circumstances.

Now I feel bad. I was just joking. You've met me - the chances of me getting a date let alone making a baby are remote..
