Hi Steve, very cool that town is in the state of Oaxaca. We are a bit north of that traveling thru Acapulco.
I will definitely have to check out that Mexican Pipeline
Thank you.

Dig the bike ... I got a pair of Pace 500.3's for me and the boss. Surprisingly nimble and quick for a "comfort" bike. I'm sure your Soltera is even more of a dream to ride.

My first post in this thread...
I've noticed that the Leica CL digital does not get a lot of love here. I've owned mine for about a week now, and have been really impressed with the colors coming straight from the camera. In addition, the standard vario-elmar is a much better lens than I expected...

Attached are two from my first outing with the camera.
regards,
bruce

The CL (and its glass) is one of the most under-rated cameras, imo. I was hoping for a CL II ... but, alas not.

Instead, it was my "gateway" into the Q and M. I reckon the "gateway" factor is why there is so little love to be found around. I mounted the Elmarit 28/2.8 ASPH on mine with the adapter, and it made a GREAT 42mm prime on the CL.

If you shoot manual lenses on the CL, you'll want to study how to set up your "short press" and "long press" menus, to aid with manual focusing. It's a GEM of a little rig that I'd gladly shoot with any day.

Congrats, and ENJOY.

I bought the Soltera because my regular bike got stolen! And the insurance payout covered the Soltera to the penny. What I wanted was the lightest e-bike that could be used as a regular bike if I wanted. And this is that - I am pedaling w/o e-juice 95% of the time. I also wanted the lightest possible because the current bike rack I have is designed to only handle bikes up to 45lbs!

I have to say I am super pleased with this bike and honestly cannot believe it cost so little - $1100 on sale. It just got replaced by a new version - a month after I bought mine of course - but when I checked the new version out I much prefer mine. Same battery/drive line but they cheapened out on the rest. Whereas my tailights are part of the rear frame , the new ones are pieces stuck on. Looks so much less elegant. The trade off is they now have turn signals. But I prefer the smooth elegance of mine - just looks so much cleaner and more expensive!

Anyway, absolutely love this brand. And I saved some more $$ by putting it together myself which frankly is so easy, er, even I could do it!

The M11 does not like extreme long exposures in the 10-30min range, unless presumably it's quite cold. I can see uneven colour across the frame on the image below from thermal contamination. The D850 does better.

I don't plan to use the double stacked ND 3.0 filter combination much at all, but I'm still waiting for my ND 1.8 filter from B&H to arrive, which is on day 6 of 30 of its travels to Namibia.

Anyways. Below is a 8min exposure, f/4, ISO 400. Roughly 18ÂșC at the time. Hoping the new filter will get me into the 2-8min mark, at ISO 64, for apertures around f/4 to f/8

What is interesting is the compressed image looks like there are those halo artifacts around the fronds. But a 1:1 crop shows they are actually not there:

p.s. I did not play w saturation etc. This is how it looks as a straight conversion. Position of sun in sky, camera placement, film type etc.

After months of careful and painstaking planning, I was finally able to capture a fleeting image of the rarely seen, and easily frightened, mouette de la mere.

Really they are not so hard to find. Like all animals you just need to know their habits. The mouette de la mere can usually be found near where their two main living requirements come together. In this case it is that there is water nearby, and that there is an abundance of decarded potato chip bags or french fries for them to feed off of. In such conditions they lose there shyness and can actually become quite aggressive.

I just love studying nature...

Its probably caused by export sharpening during or after the image resizing process.

I'm not adding sharpening and it shows even in the LR 'preview' on the edit page when you view the entire pic. I mean - it's no big deal as it is not in the final full size image - just more of a curiosity.

Export settings in LR usually have sharpening built in by default, even if unintentional. If its not that then I'm stumped

wut I mean is just looking at it in the LR preview, before exporting, it looks like it has those halo artifacts. But if I click on the preview image to enlarge, they are not there. It must just be a resizing thing.

I have seen contrast cause similar artifacts before. But if it is only an artifact of compressed/displac images it is of no consequence.
