Yesterday down on the Pacific Beach Boardwalk I stopped to photograph a group of skateboarders jumping the rocks in front of the main Lifeguard Tower. We had a great time as they pushed each other to do more and higher tricks. Before I left, they asked me to do a group shot for them. This is what I got, which I think captures the crew nicely. I choose Monochrome because I felt it best presented "Vibe" of the day. I also didn't level the image because I liked that extra bit of character it gives to the moment. Once again I choose to shoot the VM 21mm Color Skopar all day to help me learn it. This lens requires an different approach, getting closer, and more intimate with the World. It provides an interesting perspective that I do like for street style photography. Still learning, and enjoying the Leica experience.
this is a perfect group portrait, 21mm is still my favorite for maximum proximity while maintaining some realistic proportions

The 35 Distagon ZM does have a look all its own. One way to look at its price, in a favorable light, is to consider that the Distagon can inoculate one’s self against wanting a Summilux FLE.

I'm thinking of selling my Distagon as I always use the FLE instead.

You do wonderful work with your FLE. Between you, and Allen, posting FLE images, it is difficult for me to resist adding an FLE.
I very nearly bought an FLE, this month, so that could, literally, own the two* great, modern, fast (f/1.4) 35mm M-mount lenses, but, the 2022 Steel Rim distracted me, so, the FLE will have to wait until my budget recovers, which could be a quite long time, probably a year, minimum. I did have a brief test-shoot, inside a large camera store, with a demo FLE and my Distagon, and found them to be equivalent, with the Distagon being just a bit more “perfect,” in the “modern” sense.
I deal with the Distagon’s size by rotating the camera face-down, so that the base of the camera is against my body, when the camera it is hanging by the strap. (The strap passes diagonally over my right shoulder, with the camera hanging above the front of my left hip.) This is the same I do when I am using my Summilux-M 50mm ASPH or APO Summicron-M 75mm ASPH. This carry method has the added advantage of lessening the likelihood of splashed liquid or dust landing on the outer element or filter.
*Having both M10 and M Type 246 cameras, there are times I will use both, at the same time, the M10 for color, and the 246 for monochrome. So, that is how I “justify” keeping some lenses in pairs.

Every now and then, I think about selling for a summilux. I have a 35 Cron on the way but I don't think I can choose it over the Zeiss.

Thanks guys, not my usual subject but how can you miss interesting imaging character shooting Leica.
Huss, worse still is knowing that I used to have abs like when I was surfing, and driving. I spent 2 hours a day 5 days a week with in the gym with trainers to keep competitive. I forgot to change my eating habits when all that stopped, and my injuries kept me from being active. How far I have fallen in my old age....
