These guys know how to celebrate. I declined to bring my camera to town for the Los Indianos carnival celebration in February where they douse each other with talcum powder. The streets are still slippery. News of the J&J lawsuit hasn't made it here I suppose

These were exposed sea rocks at very low tide this morning in Swakopmund, Namibia.
The area surrounding the town has a lot of marble and granite, with the largest mine being Uranium.

Thanks. Inland from you in the Erongo area are some famous Demantoid Garnet, and Tourmaline mines. I have wanted to visit the area but so far, haven't made it there. Maybe one day.

I'm not very clued up in this department but yeah, further inland are some semi precious stone mines. The Erongo region is fairly large though, and the landscape changes dramatically over fairly short distances.
As a kid I used to visit a gravel plane just a little north from Swakopmund. I'd lay on my stomach with a tweezer and pick little garnets up all morning and fill up little zipper plastic bags of the stuff over the holiday.

The Summaron-M 28/5.6 has been my go-to 28mm lens for the last few years. It does have a very unique signature.

As a stroke of bad luck would have it my alternator died today and my son's racing buddy just happens to own a shop and we setup a time to come over and replace the it.
With the bad comes the good as I was able to shoot this beautiful Shelby Cobra setting in his shop. It's not an original, but somewhere along the line Shelby America had something to do with it, with ident. plates on the body and engine.
Tomorrow morning it will be on it's way to Florida for this weekends Barret Jackson Auto Auction. It's set to roll across the stage Saturday afternoon/early evening. So if you would like to buy it, just phone in and it could be yours....
My pictures don't do it justice having to use a higher than I would have liked ISO in the 240, but it's a damn sexy car..
