How many times I walked by this piece of glass just North of Crystal Peir in Pacific Beach without taking notice of it, I cannot even hazard a guess. But, it is a big number. This afternoon I saw it. At first I was a bit dissapointed in myself for missing it for what must be many years. I told myself I must get much better at noticng such interesting things in the enviornment if I ever want to be a good photographer. This more that any skill at exposure or focus is the key to good imaging. But, then I thought better about it. I realized that I should just be happy I saw it, and hope that I continue to see new things, and new photographic opportunities in even very familiar places. This will keep the hobby alive, and me interested enough to keep going out exploring even well known places.
Seeing new things is always a blessing.
I had spent some time in enjoyable conversation with a friend, just watching the busy parade of people walking the boardwak. When leaving to go home I asked him to stand in front of the glass while I waded into the planter on the other side to make the image. This was the only exposure I made today.
