This is one of the mounds from the Cahokia Mounds, as the day is ending.
This particular mound is the lesser one of the "twins". The twin mounds (other not shown) are believed to be the burial grounds. But, have never been unearthed / exhumed to verify.

This past 4 days I have been traveling. I was in Tucson for the annual Gem and Mineral Show. It is the largest in the World and is my once a year chance to see lifelong friends from all over the World.
I remain mobility challenged so keeping my traveling kit small is really important. In fact, I had decided to not take a camera at all on the trip. But as I was leaving the house I decided to do an experiment and just take my M10-P with one lens, one extra battery, and a lens pen for maintenance if needed. I chose my most versatile lens the Leica 35mm f/1.4 Summilux ASPH. My Wife was all ready sitting in the car idling waiting for me to get in when I decided to take the camera. It was quick grab and dash decision. Of course this meant that anything I decided to photograph, I had to find a way to make it work at 35mm. This actually was no issue, as I am beginning to learn my lenses, and see in a way that matches up. It is actually liberating. I wore the camera around my neck as I traveled, and it was so unobtrusive that it caused zero problems. A wonderful way to travel with a camera instead of a big camera, and lots of lenses.
I ended up not taking many images because of the long working days. As you can imagine the security at such an event is strict. they would not allow me to bring the camera in at all. Soo, in the end I was really only able to shoot while in transit at the airports. Being basically still unable to walk any distance I was put in either a wheel chair, or electric cart while moving through the airports. Embarrassing but better that sitting home.
I am home now, so will post some of my images over the next couple of days. These shot were all made while being wheeled through the airports. They have difficult lighting, and both I and the subjects were in motion. It was a challenge to see something interesting, compose and shoot it. I usually had just a second or two to make the shot. I of course had to rely on zone focusing in this situation. It made for good practice. Nothing really good in them, but a fun way to travel.
Enjoy!
