My next pic is a sign that was left behind after a Chinese Restaurant was demolished up Island on the highway. I meant to stop to take a photo of it for years.... I finally did, and as it would happen the sign was taken down a few weeks later.

That shot came right after the rain passed. Definitely not a normal day at HMB. If you ever got to the Ritz, make sure you try their weekend brunch. It’s a little expensive, but it’s more reasonable than French Laundry. We went for our anniversary. It was definitely worth it.
I liked the juxtaposition of the old Woodie with the older residential neighborhood in the background. Most of the backgrounds at this show were just horrible.

I find the background can be challenging at car shows as well. Sometimes a shallow DOF helps, but I also find incorporating people in the background can be fun as well.
