Joe, really nice BW candid.

Charles, you get so many interesting places to go. Just a little Jealous...

Luka, great set. love the miature horse firs shot. way cute.

Ron, you nailed em. quite the pose there.

When I get to shoot more, I'll be stopping her down some more, (the 90), what a lens though, Great stuff for less than the price of a new Nikon lens.

Thanks Doug. Yes, try around f/5.6 - it's pure awesomeness Wide open it's what I hoped for but stopped down it really exceeds all my expectations. While traces of CA (purple fringing) can still be found at f/5.6, the micro contrast is off the chart. And the colors are amazing.

A couple of stopped down shots:

really nice set Luka. That chimney looks like it has silver efex in last shot, nice shot, sort of unusual looking...

I got my ID for Silver Efex today, my Fed Ex package came home delivery on Sat. :-)

I couldn't get online download, it had to be physical mail for education price due to how education copies work these days with 3rd party validation. Companies have had to much fraud and are taking tigher precautions to assure academic eligability I guess.

Luka - that 90 Cron looks like your style, looks like a great lens.
Ron - love the pose, great capture.
Phil - great shots!

I tried the street shooting of people today....I just suck. Here is what I came up with. I tried to focus on doing just this today and I was so pissed off with my results I called it quits early. I think the main thing is that I just can't seem to find anything that looks worth shooting....but I know its there. Joe, Charles...not sure how you guys do it so well. I admire your work even more now

Phil, very nice shots! Beautiful rendering

Ryan, very nice shots!!! : ) I love the B&W shot of the older couple.

Thank you I'm work in progress just loving the M9's Sometimes it is a matter of finding the right FL that suits you. Finding the right lighting is my main issue. In Bali or Thailand, I find the off street shelters, stalls away from the midday sun, the lighting has softened with paste backdrops is a great start. With the WA's, I find I really need to sit down, connect with people, have a tea or coffee, and then take some shots having to be very close with the 28/35 to be interesting, otherwise my shots look like I'm just a spectator from afar. Mind you Joe, does a fantastic job here With the 75/90 it is very different, as you can be more removed, and not having to intrude on people's space so much.

Doug, I also having a number of issues SEP II, speed, occasional hanging and graphic issues. If I do have problems, I just revert to SEP I, which I in some ways I prefer as I know the results I am going to get with my presets. I am sure there will be software fixes soon, so maybe try and download version 1, and see if there any improvements. My gut feeling, is there are issues with the graphics driver, as it is with C1 Pro 6.1.0. Vs 6.1.1 is much improved

Thanks Charles, Luka, Doug, Ryan

Charles, like #2 & 3 shots on second set. Very nice with the 75Lux.

Luka, you are really in your element with the 90Cron. All very nice shots and extra points for the customary duck shots! My favorites are #3, 4 and the second last tree shot. Its nice to see a not so "serious" side of you on the 5th shot. Really nice lens. Even at f/2 this lens looks good. It could be just me, but I see similar a rendering signature to the 35 Lux ASPH v1 especially on the tree & bench shot.

Ron, you have a cool bunch of friends!

Phil, nice shots. #1 is my favorite, love the dreamy rendering, almost large format like. Is this a Noct?

Ryan, my favorites are #5, 7 & 8. #5 with the bin and woman on the steps is very nicely done, classic street photography. I like this one best. I immediately thought of Andre Kertesz:

Joe, again, a nice capture. How did you get that close with a 35 without the people sitting there noticing they were being photographed?

I learned a bit from watching HCB and Winogrand. Watch this, although your shutter speed has to be at least 1/125 or 1/250. If you are not patient, start at 3:30 on the first video. With HCB, its similar but he is quintessential Parisien, he moves with such poetry and grace, really smooth.

It helps with f/8 and zone focusing, this way I can quickly bring the camera up and shoot fast, but not to the level of the maestros. I'm quite comfortable with the 35FOV and I can frame it quite accurately before lifting the camera to the eye. I'm not a pro but I think the key is to know what you want to photograph/frame beforehand, the rest is, well some say luck, some say providence, and some say AMEN.

------
Doug - SEP2 is not entirely bug free and takes tons of processing speed. Really slow on my computer. I had to call tech support and change video drivers on my laptop, else it won't even load correctly. If you are running a custom video driver (Dell, IBM, etc) you will have problems as this is what I learnt from them. I suggest you call them on Monday.

Transferred some pics from the SD Card this evening.

Back to my regular subject matter

Processing not perfect but I quite like what SEP2 is capable of. Definitely much easier to control tones compared to SEP1. If I can continue to get nice tones with SEP2, I'm seriously considering keeping the M6 TTL and Tri-X in the locker.

Thanks Phil. Hopefully a shot like this is something I can be proud of showing to my son when he grows up

Nice antique set. I like #1 best. I can tell its SEP2 from the frame lines

Thanks guys.

The fact is my friends are much cooler than I am... I'm just along for the ride, so to speak. Fasching is coming up in Germany (mardi gras),which explains some of the outfits. I'm hoping for some interesting photos this coming Tuesday.

Another one, same equipment set:

After this set of photos, working at ISO 2500 and 1/15 second and lower at f/2.8 I'm thinking the 21 Lux would be a nice lens to have... just the cost is a bit of an issue... Back a couple months ago I thought the 24 Lux would be more my taste, but I can see the benefit of a very fast 21mm for some of the things I like to photograph. That and either a 35 or 50 Lux....

Phil, nice shots! I like the antique feel to them.
Joe, great shot! I love everyone's expressions in this shot.
Ron, very nice shot! The lust for more for lenses

Today I went shopping at MBK in Bangkok, looking to buy cheap $5 t shirts, and found a second Leica shop, with an excellent chrome 90 Cron Pre Asph going very very cheap. I tested it out, for focus at all distances and now it is my procession

Some shots from this afternoon with the 90 Cron Pre Asph

joe88 That street scene with the two people looking at each other is nice. I like how we cannot see the younger person's face to see what expression he has, instead needing to infer it from the other expressions.

rscheffler Fantastic timing. The moment before the kiss frozen and the movement of laughter. This one is top notch. Don't want to dissuade you from a lens, but I think with a faster shutter speed this photo would not be as good.
