Yes, and the crazier thing is we had four progressively better sunsets in a row.
Friday Jan. 14th:
Saturday (yeah, I went back to the same spot because it was the tip of an island around which everyone had to go back to the parking lot, so I got decent variety of 'traffic' in the photos and a slightly higher vantage point so people's heads didn't merge with the dark horizon):
Sunday (it snowed overnight and as a result, no vivid reflections off the ice):
Monday we had the big snowstorm. I spent most of the day out in the woods and got some decent images, but IMO nothing really out of the ordinary (for snowy forest scenes). Sky was overcast all day. Had to run errands late in the afternoon, came out of Costco and sure enough, there was a sliver of blue sky on the west horizon that the sun was going to set into and light up all the cloud cover. There wasn't any time to go somewhere 'scenic', so I just took a few photos of the car in the parking lot.

Yesterday we had some lake effect flurries that added a slight glow to sunset.
