So nice to see those, Andrew, I hiked in on the Inca trail in 1982, and it brings back memories.

It was more rustic then

Someday I would like to return to Boliva, which was my favorite back then

It would be great to see some pix from then!

I think it looks very good. Probably the rendering is too clean compared to equivalent M glass, which is good news for some and bad news for others

One of your creations, Edward?

The ZM85 must really sing on the SL! Agreed that the slightly thicker SL sensor glass affects RF lens performance. Definitely felt some of my wides were degraded compared to results from the M series.

Back to that sudden snow storm one day in January while in Munich's Englischer Garten...

Really nice set Ron, perfect moments (frozen) in time.

That Everest pano looks amazing Rocky. What's the story with the 'Leica MPan' shots - also stitched? It looks a very clean job on my phone screen at least, with a rapid winder of some kind?

It's a shame you missed focus on the van pushing aly :/

Hi Ron,

Love your snow set above, as well as your previous ice sets!

The ring is the lady's design. My idea to blur her face wasn't as successful as I initially thought. The ZM 85 is scary sharp on the SL. I first included a shot of the lady (in focus) at f/2 but quickly removed it because it wasn't flattering at all. It's so easy to hit critical focus with the SL, while with the M, I was always slightly off, which helped to hide skin blemishes with portraits. As for wides, I have noticed field curvature that bends away from the camera in the corners. The trick is to front focus slightly when image borders/corners are important. I have found that I can get excellent results by using peaking on the whole frame, as it gives me an idea what areas are in focus and what areas are not. Focusing in the center with magnification is a guarantee the corners will be blurred. This said, the ZM 35/1.4 seems to be immune to this field curvature, probably because it was designed with the cover glass in mind.

Thank You, Edward!
Loving your adventures with the SL

L1046316 by unoh7, Shot at F/2.8! A bit of purple fringe up on the high right, with super bright snow. I did not try to correct.
A brand new lens is really something Never had a new M lens till this one.

Makes the old M9 look like the latest

75 is a handful, as frame and DOF are tight, yet the urge is to use it like a 50. The Lux is so big when you raise it, you think OK, let's get in 75 mind. But this one is not heavy and it seems harder to switch the gears from "normal"

But despite my struggles, I had quite a few shots today I liked.

Thanks mate! Yeah it was just a quick two shot pano, I'm a left eye shooter so I use a Leicavit. Just rigged up a frankenscanning system so I'll have much better results soon

I continue to love how diverse and inspiring the images in this thread are. I've fallen badly behind, but the light was kind to me today so I thought I'd contribute a few back. All M9/35 FLE.

Cheers,

I was thinking of adding the ZM 28/2.8 to use with the M 240. A bit wider than my 35, and, IIRC, still a sort of usable viewfinder experience in terms of framing. A question to any users of this combo: what sort of viewfinder cut-off do you get in the corner, where the lens/hood pokes through? Is it mostly just the hood?

I wonder, also, would a pre-asph Leica 28/2.8 fit more with my VC 35/1.4 SC - does it give a more traditional rendering? I imagine the Zeiss will be harder.
