TY so much Edward. Plays with all the colored lights are always a struggle. Talk about saturation! Give my some nice bright rainy weather, any day:

Going Up by unoh7, 28 Cron

On Point by unoh7, 135/3.4 APO

The Start by unoh7, 135 APO

My 135 APO I used to think was "out", but I could not miss with the thing today. I was pretending to be DDD

Apropos of absolutely nothing, another I took the same shot with a different camera/medium moment.

MM1, 28 Cron, ISO 3200

M7, 28 Cron, Tri-X

I love the colour/haze/mood in those 75 Lux stage shots Charlie, and nice set with the Noctilux Werner.

Werner - I like what you're doing in post #6 above and in p.1334 #2 , but in my own work I'm beginning to think that this sort of thing works better with film, in terms of the luminosity you can get in the highlights. I argue with myself that, for the dark, high-contrast look that I often like, the M-Monochrom is ideal — but then I see the luminosity of the highlights in the shot of the two young women in black (p.1334 #9) and realize that the MM, no matter how carefully I post-process, produces something duller in the highlights. That makes me want to sell my M9-P and MM and limit myself to film, although it's much more work. The lower resolution, or acuity if you will, doesn't bother me. I'll agonize over this for few more weeks and then decide.

Allen - I also like what you're doing in the B&W in p.1334 #10, and also imagine that the highlights would be more luminous with Tri-X, except for the first B&W picture in that post, which seems to me "as good as film" in terms of rendering the highlights.

EDIT: After posting the above, I saw Coogee's MM vs Tri-X comparison: I much prefer the Tri-X rendering of the highlights (and the grain) — and like the skew from the horizontal. Coogee: your Tri-X picture is another little push for me to go back to my M6 and film.

Thanks Mitch, it's an interesting topic and one on my mind at the moment too (I had to sell my MM for the $$ and am wondering, now I can afford to buy it back, if I really should.)

The Tri-X shot was an end of the roll, fading light, 1/15th and see what happens sort of moment fwiw.

Indeed it does seem and feel much bigger, even though on paper the difference doesn't give that impression. I think the reason is the extra large handgrip and the huge viewfinder. The body itself isn't big by any means.

I don't know about Edward, but I'll chim in since I switch between the SL and M regularly.

Since I don't use a grip. The SL seems bigger. BUT if I used a grip w/my M-P, it would feel almost the same.

The biggest issue I have with the SL is the protruding EVF. It's uncomfortable to wear when you don't have a heavy lens tilting the body downwards (as in, it's uncomfortable with most of the M lineup). The M series bodies don't have this problem obviously. Thus they're much easier to sling around your body and carry all day.

I much prefer holding the SL even w/zoom to something like a Canon or a Nikon. Although the D750 is fairly comfortable as well. And it's more comfortable then my X-T1 (which isn't to bad but a bit small). And also more comfortable then the A7 series bodies. I would almost say that the SL is more comfortable to hold then the M-P, but since the M-P is a manual camera, I'm always using two hands and I'm also very use to it.

Agreed with Adam about the EVF.
