I picked up a 1.4 Leica magnifier for when I use my 90 cron and it works really well. I'm also thinking of adding one of those Walter contrast eye pieces.
Just catching up on the thread after 10 days away, loved the discussion on B+W/colo(u)r, really interesting.
I did 'upgrade' my MM9 to an M246 but I think the M246 was wasted on me and subsequently traded it all back to the MM9.
It took this expensive diversion(!) to realise the lack of features/quirky M9 body was part of the appeal of the MM9, to me, combined with the look of the images. Somehow the M246 felt like a crippled M240 whereas the MM9 feels like an inspired M9. Stupid probably but that's how I felt.

I have some new fancy snowshoes (evo ascent), and I took them out this afternoon. While it can't match the MM and 246 in detail, the M9 in BW allows some play in the color channels to make some interesting looks (to me)
I think I need an orange filter
Oh and it's cold in Japan. And I forgot my gloves. Brass feels like ice on bare hands when it's been out all day in the cold.
No real pictures yet. Just trying to keep warm so far.
Here some of my first photos taken with my Leica M6 on Kodak Tri-X 400 film and developed with D76 developer. I used the Leica 50/2 Summicron-M lens. The negatives were digitized by photographing with Sony A7R and Sigma 105/2.8 macro lens. Post processing with B&W and channel inversion plus slight contrast adjustment.
I'm only grateful I'd didn't kill myself. TY for kind words.
