Still learning to focus with the 90 2 cron. wide open. I picked up a 1.4 viewfinder magnifier and it really really helps.

January is not supposed to be beach weather in the Florida Panhandle, but we have had an unusually warm winter so far. However, today was a little cooler with temperatures in the 50s, Fahrenheit, so not very many people showed up at the beach this morning. It was nice having it pretty much to myself, especially knowing it will look quite different in a couple of months when the Spring Breakers arrive.
I packed my S2 with the 70mm Summarit, and my SL with a Summilux-M 35, put on my hiking boots, and headed to Topsail State Park, one of the many state parks near my home. The hour I had planned for the outing turned into three.
When Thorsten Overgaard reviewed the S in January 2010, he referred to it as "(t)he Steinway of cameras," but went on to say that it was boring in it's simplicity, and for that reason he preferred shooting with the M9 (at the time).
I, too, enjoy shooting with an M, but the S is close on its heels. For you see, I like that simplicity. That's why, after trying three iterations of the Sony alphas, I am firmly back in the Leica camp. I pulled the SL out of the bag for a few shots this morning, but I was in sync with the S, and saw no reason to put it away. Here are four taken with it and Summarit-S 70.

I have been thinking about the M(262), but I would need to push something else out of my cabinet, and I don't know what it would be - M(240) maybe? Or SL? No, definitely not the SL, but then again...
