Chas, if I had to choose only 2 lenses to work with, they would be 35 and 50. Wider and longer lenses see much less action on a rangefinder, especially for street. For landscapes though, a 28 is much more useful than a 35. But I believe for street shooting the 35 is the better option. Just my personal opinion.

A bit of egotistical cropping :

M240 & 28 Cron

Side note, I know it's probably GAS, but I'm considering selling my 28 for a 35. I find myself selecting a 50 or a 90 over 28 more often because my phone is 28 equivalent. I know it's not the same, but when I'm doing streets (or otherwise) it's always handy to have 2 focal lengths. I also tend to crop the 28 to a 35esque FOV. The only thing holding me back is the fact I haven't actually used the 28cron to death. Don't want a situation like I did with my 80lux that I regret selling the lens
...Show more

Maybe get a 'cheap' 35 to shoot for a while to see how you like it? I've been shooting the 28 Cron for several years instead of 35, but having picked up the CV35/1.7 a couple weeks ago, and I'm enjoying the return to 35mm. I'm not yet sure I prefer one over the other... but so far find I'm usually able to switch one for the other in many situations. So, no real answer to your question from me, I guess. Just try both and see what sticks?

Been busy lately, but had a chance to grab a few quick shots. Lots of great posts lately and, sorry but I haven't even had a chance to 'like' them.

Haha, yes Joakim, at least someone was happy to see me.

Duane - beautiful scene! Blue Ridge Parkway has been on my 'to do list' for some years and I finally hope to drive some, or all of it, in a couple weeks, if currently fluid plans don't change much more. Any recommendations of where to stop, things to see, places to stay, etc.? The current plan is to drive it from north to south.

Werner - great multitasking.
René - great scenes from the tattoo - very interesting location too!
Allen - really strong set, as usual.
Gary - beautiful light! Would love to visit Oregon...
Cal - lovely tones!
Coogee - love the light in the last one

The photo at the top of the page and these below were at Toronto city hall the day after the end of the Para Pan Am games wrapped up, which was the end to the month or so of Pan Am Games activities in and around the region... It was cool to find this display at city hall still attracting the tourists on a nice, sunny summer's day... Crews were already tearing things down...

Sorry for the photo dump!

Joakim, Deaths Head and Stroller is great
Another killer shot on that lake, Gary Lighthouse is nice too. And Beach.
Terrific set Rirakuma!
Great flower, Allen. Bokeh is good there.
Rodizzle, love the waterfall
Good sets, Rene.

Chas you selling the 28cron? Really? My take: you can find a great 35 for 650USD, but a sweet fast 28 like the cron not growing in the trees

On this same walk I carried the A7.mod and Canon nFD 24/2 That's a famous FD lens, and I've owned two and never till I did the mod did I understand the fuss.

Lovely lovely shots everyone! Ron, I really like that idea of shooting the shadows cast by the letters.

I've actually been keeping a lookout for a 35FLE because it's been on my list for quite a while..at the same time I've opened myself to offers for the 28 down here. I admit it's a very nice lens, but I'm only going to be in London for another year and then I'll be heading back to asia, so I want a lens I'll bring out to shoot more and that's a 35 over the 28. I'll pick the 28 up again someday, unless no one here buys it, then it's coming back to London with me. At the same time I've also looked at the 35 ZM (1.4, 2, 2.8) and the CV.

Re: 35FLE rattle. For those of you who own the lens does your copy rattle? There's the occasional user who's 35 doesn't exhibit this, but most user's copies seem to do. Don't want to open a can of worms, just checking how prevalent this is. I'm curious to know if the later copies past 2013 have this or if leica silently "fixed" it.

Anyway, some shots with the 50lux:

28 Cron prices are pretty low now, so it would be an option to get the ZM 35/1.4 and keep the cron for less than the FLE.

Nothing against the FLE, it is the benchmark, and a bit smaller. Not sure if it's lighter though (it is, 320 vs 380). Many great crons also, all of them under 2k, and both ZM 35/2 and 35/.28 are top shelf for 650USD.

Considering how you like to shoot, the 35/2 asph, which is great WO, and tiny might be also fun.

Hi Ron, I live south of Asheville and only familiar with the favorite turnouts/viewpoints and hiking area a long the Blue Ridge Parkway south of Asheville. If you have time we have over 300 waterfalls in the county I live in. Some easily accessible.
