Ocean, that's some travel kit! I especially liked the last of each set.
Coogee, it's been almost 2 years since I was last back in Sydney..I guess I'll see those mirrors in December

28cron-ing again today. I love this lens (Though I said that about the 50lux and then the 90APO, but they're all too good)

Edward - You're still traveling right? I take it you're ok if you're back in Bangkok?

Yes, Edward, you're so Zeissy ... Great work.
Alan, bet NOLA was as hot as here - we are actually expecting a "cold" front this week to bring temps down under 100F.
Werner - your work is always so clean and lovely.
Africansh - need to take the time to look at more of your stuff. Looks great!
Adam - very pragmatic of you to keep so hydrated.

Making a point of shooting more with my Leica. Considering getting a Sony A7R now... thoughts? Will sell my X100T to fund it. Don't shoot that fancy camera near enough to keep it!

Some here with my ME and ZM 35/2

Thank you Adam! I'm back to Bangkok since Sunday. The Erawan isn't really the area I hang around though I go once in awhile to take photos at the shrine. Quite shocking what happened.

Thank you Katie! I wouldn't really recommend getting the Sony, unless you plan to buy native lenses too. You take gorgeous photos with your Leica, like the ones in your above post. There's nothing extra you can get from the Sony. Just my opinion.

Katie - You might love the camera (A7series, I personally don't). As I always say to people asking me what camera they should buy - Any current production camera will give you great results if you know what you're doing. This is especially true for you, since you're skilled enough to take the shots you take, that we all enjoy.

But my honest feeling is that you should just use your M-system more. Work within the limitations of the camera, I've seen great work from you, the M is all you really need, and we like the work you do with it!

Unless you're talking about doing things more professionally, as I know you mentioned that you do take jobs. In which case, I suppose the A7series might not be a bad choice if you need better ISO performance and AF. The 28/55/90 would make a pretty decent 3 lens kit that could be used for most any jobs that come your way.
Just want to add, if you're confident and fairly quick/accurate with your M-system. Then I doubt the A7series will give you a leg up in that regard. I find I'm perfectly capable of RF focusing, where the A7 is not capable of AF focusing.

Edward - Tragic and ridiculous, but good to hear that you're safe.

Thanks Adam and Edward. The only reason I was thinking was basically to use some of my older lenses that sit dormant on my many, many film cameras. I guess I could just shoot some B&W film with them and be content. I still have the Canon setup that I use for some jobs, and always prefer the Leica files over anything Canon. Always. Just need the telephoto occasionally with the Canon - I I do like the 50L. I'm down to only two M mount lenses now - the ZM 35/2 and the CV 21 1.8. Sold my gorgeous 50 lux, as I couldn't justify that high dollar item sitting unused while I used the 21 10X more for paying gigs (interior real estate). My everyday setup is still the M/with a 35 focal length. I am so happy with that. It suits me. I guess that's why I got the X100T - as a cheaper alternative to carry - with the same focal length. It's just so MODERN that I get flustered and don't use half the features that make it a great camera. Still have a R2A for M lenses on film and seriously about 20 other SLR bodies w/ lenses (mostly Minolta)... maybe I'll just sell the X100T and buy a new purse.

That last sentence.. What my wife would say.
I think if you're happy with your M files over your Canon files, then it'll feel the same way when you try the A7. Though I agree that the A7 has a certain charm because you can adapt anything to it. Maybe just have a huge sale, get rid of everything non-essential for work, and keep a small M kit for joy (and also some work).

The Sony's are the best camera for adapted SLR lenses right now. Your 21CV will like it too. Not the 35mm f2 though.

I have at least one of all the current A7 series and the thing is, that they put out very very good image quality (better than anything by Canon) but they're utterly uninspiring to use. Especially the originals. The mk2 bodies are much much better. All my cameras get used but I rarely "want" to pick up a Sony body. Using the M is just so much more engaging.

I was testing the A7R mk2 this morning shooting some real estate with adapted M lenses and Sony natives. The files are ridiculous and I intend to build a smallish, high quality landscape kit around the A7R2 but the whole time this morning I wished I'd packed the M-P. I like the flip up EVF and the live view exposure behaviour on it. I think the inbuilt level is far more precise on the M-P than the Sonys. And all the M lenses I use are essentially distortion free.

I'd try to borrow/rent a Sony body before buying. If you think the X100T is too modern the Sony will drive you crazy. Personally I'd see the Sony as a replacement for the Canon system, not the Fuji. You could always sell the Fuji and fund a CV 50mm 1.5 (90%+ as good as the 'lux) and a 85mm Zeiss. That way you could do more work with the Leica and less with the Canon.

Or go crazy. A type 240 will adapt your old manual focus lenses just as well as a Sony.

Great pictures all, this thread moves so fast, I am exhausted catching up!

Love the speedboat/lake shots Werner, beautiful speedboats and European looking lakes, very Leica like

Looks like you are having (had?) fun in Europe Edward, I love the way the woman is looking at you and clutching her bag here!

This one is my favourite.

Great scenery ocean2059, that cable car over the Yellow River looks a little terrifying!

It (Sydney) is changing fast with all the new (sold to foreign investor) tower block apartments springing up aFrIcanSH. December is a cracking time to come back, can already feel Spring in the air here. The 28 Cron is superb, and you're putting it to perfect use there.

Nice Katie - the reflection shot and the lovely one of your boys are just everything I love about CCD look, Sony won't deliver there (though I have a7r.Mod myself for R lens use) - shame on you for selling the 50 Lux!

Nice people shapes joakim, I am trying to put more people flow in my shots, slow progress though - I get up too early and there just aren't enough people!

Lovely one for the album recordproducti, perfectly placed and natural.
