Love that photo above, Chuck! Timeless.... It could have been shot yesterday, or 50 years ago

Gelato - stunning shot. Much pp involved? And do you think you could have equalled this with the M240?

I have been busy the last few days, and haven't had a chance to comment on the terrific posts. The following images, a little different from my usual posts (no pun intended), were captured yesterday while visiting a farm in the northern end of the county. (M240 with Summilux 50 f/1.4)

BW conversion in Lightroom.

Thank you and Rene,
just 'normal' PP. Only LR involved, tonal adjustments and a little local brightness added in the foreground.
Don't know about the 240, have only used the 240 at a workshop in Wetzlar with mainly color work, but I think it's very capable. The MM has its own character and you know you will be only shooting in BW, that makes a difference.
Cheers
Werner

Rene, both beautiful but for me it's the BW version.

Werner,
I have enjoyed the images you have posted here taken with your MM. I am blessed to have both the M240 and M246, and I find that the MM (and M246) have their own character, and definitely an edge over the M240 files converted to BW, especially in low light situations. Noise is much less prevalent with the 246 files as ISO increases. Even at ISO 6400 the M246 produces images with very little noise, compared to those from the 240 at the same ISO.

Files from the M246 are also more contrasty than those from their color counterpart, and from my point of view, the combination of contrast and low noise results in images that simply look better. Call me nostalgic, but I love shooting in black and white. Most of the time I find myself reaching for the M246 whenever conditions permit; however, on a bright, clear day, I oftentimes run into issues with blown out highlights with the 246 - highlights that aren't recoverable in Lightroom. In those situations, I find the 240 more useable.

The truth is that I enjoy both cameras, but when conditions permit I almost always reach for the 246.

Best regards,
Robert

I've been thinking about reskinning my MP with stingray a while ago and the leather is nearly finished. I overlaid it on top of the M6 but the MP its going is black. The MP is with DAG at the moment so I can't take a picture of it on top. Do you guys think the skin looks too loud?

Rocky, that is too much IMO.
Rene, prefer BW in this case. but color is beautiful too.

Great images, guys.
Here a few with 75mm Summarit, while my kids play at park, I walk around try to at least capture a few frames.
