I had problems with cards, but now I am using Sandisk Ultra 16GB, and works fine - and they are cheap too

Enjoying the shots over the last couple of pages.

Ron -I like the colors you captured of your image and the framing of Antelope Island. In particular the 1st shot. The S curve of the road and the wide expanse of the shot gives the effect that of the flat lands will meet with the mountains and the car is one its way. Nice capture.

Dolina -regardless of the reddish pick tint the greens and oranges bring the picture together. I see some people still like to make funny faces when a camera is pointed at them. Interesting background the EMS and the girl looking adds to the image IMO. Excellent motion of the dragon, I like the how it conveys the motion.

Gary -the diagonal of the peaks with the Lux 50 catches my eye.

Rick - Cobblestone with some leaf color added very nice.

Ricardo - composition off the open door draws me in to discover many things. Including the cat nap.

Joan - the crane and the boom off the other makes for nice continuous lines and gives a nice optical illusion that the two cranes are one. Like how you cropped it providing that illusion.

Rene - love the cropping of the 2nd shot eliminating the shoulders and above as well as the ankles and below. Very well composed and the timing is great catching the tire in the background so his hand contrasts we’ll with the background. The bag over the shoulder and walking gives a sense of a walker walking alone with a group in behind talking. Nice. Nicely done with the bicycle shadow shot.

Mitch - Color combinations of blues, greys and a littler gold well balanced.

Pandorf - That lady looking out the window comes across as a great story just waiting to be told. Staring off in the distance thinking of a bygone time. Love the contrast in the AT The Phoenix shot.

JoJo- I like the contrasting compositions of the two shots, the first having the white window frames and the second with the dark blackbird sign, together these set up a nice contrast.

Webber - patterns of windows in focus and in booked along with the increasing blackness of the windows as you move from top to bottom the picture. I like it.

Joakim- Drinking in the middle of the crowd, nice point of focus here, stands out from the crowd and then a secondary focus point right behind with the lady also upright looking forward and then competing the triangle with the lady in glasses looking your way. Nicely done. In the 2nd set last shot the facial expression is excellent I can just hear her saying Come On please you have to sell to me at that price. and the gentlemen with the drink thinking if I hold off she will come up to my price she really wants that equipment.

Cedar- the images bring a memory for me with the similarity of Henderson Lake in Lethbridge. The composition angles you captured brings back enjoyable memories for me.

Gordon - Terrific such a beautiful image with bride on the swing.

Here are a few from lunch on Saturday...my favorite model was a little upset she was left home. Poor girl. All MM and 35mm 1.4. It's feeling pretty good on Day 5.

Nice place - great food. Favorite standby.

Sorry I've been absent again, haven't had a lot of time to shoot.
All three from the M240. I'm considering trading out my Mamiya 7II kit for an M6 body with a 28 or 90mm so I can shoot both film and digital on Leica Ms.

M240 & 90AA

Sorry about the Jpeg artifacts/weirdness in the sky... will have to figure something out about how these are being output as it's happening at all compression levels, including highest quality...

Or just try to ignore it.

I've had problems with posteurisation as well, I don't think its too distracting though but I can imagine it being a nightmare for printing. I think one digital solution for it is to add monochromatic noise in photoshop.

Haven't been doing anything exciting lately so I'm just practicing some black and whites. Some old pics taken with the 28 elmarit and nocti.

So the Leica CEO is being replaced. Wonder what that entails. I hope it's good news.

I just read the article and it seems like the problem is with the profits. I hope the engineers and designers work extra hard this year to dig into our pockets .. There's a huge thread on LUF about requests on the next M model, maybe we'll get our wishes this time

Thanks for the comments Edward and Rocky, and the likes from everyone else!

I caught something about possible Leica troubles in an RFF thread earlier today. Seems it might be Blackstone related? If the CEO is replaced by someone favored by Blackstone, by the sounds of it, it could lead to problems for Leica in respect to maintaining core values, if those values conflict with profitability…

In hindsight, Leica had a lot of good fortune releasing the M9 when it did. A couple years later and the mirrorless market would be more established and Sony would be present with the a7 family and it may not have been as big a success (though I suspect pent up demand by Leica M faithful propelled most M9 sales). Without that momentum, Leica would have been in much worse shape than now. Perhaps the Blackstone partnership allowed them to maximize their expansion efforts in the short-term, and now consequences of such a partnership are slowly taking hold?

Rocky, really enjoyed those photos. The posterization is primarily a problem once the images are resized. At full rez, it’s not much of a problem because there is some noise in the sky to begin with (I generally don’t add luminance NR). I agree adding grain/noise helps, just I’d rather avoid the extra steps…

M240 & 28 Cron, cropped a bit, probably closer to 35mm.

This was the front steps of the Utah State Capitol Building in SLC. While I was looking around, a photographer did a shoot with this teen inside and outside… here she’s on her way home, I assume. Mom was already down the steps with the photographer. Checking the Utah government website, you’re able to use the building and grounds, for this kind of personal photography. No appointment or fees required. Just show up and enjoy.

That's awesome Ron, it looks like a great place for wedding photogs. Speaking of weddings, I've nominated myself to be a backup shooter in a friends wedding later this year. He asked me to be the main guy but I had to decline because I've never shot a wedding before. It's going to be fun being the backup though, no pressure at all, I just have to stay out of the way from the main photog. I haven't told my mate but I'll be shooting a Hasselblad with a polaroid back, it should be a neat little surprise for the guests. The Leica is going to tag along and I'm pairing it with a character lens, just don't know which one yet.

By the way is anyone interested in seeing image sequences? I have a bunch of little events from my last trip, none of em great photos but it makes a neat little sequence kind of like a contact sheet.

Wow, Glorider, your black lab looks almost identical to the black lab I used to have a few years back but he was a male. Same sad look when I was leaving the house without him.
