Gorgeous shot with the 50 lux Gary... Uhoh, you are making me COLD.

So I have no interest in the M240. I love my M-E output and am happy to get a new sensor for free. I NEED a small fixed lens auto focus for travel. I often need one handed shooting (and usually after cocktails, so I don't trust my manual focus skills) and so I decided to grab the X100T. I'm exited about the improvements over the original (which I LOVED, but eventually wanted to smash due to the cruddy autofocus). So thanks so much to everyone for their input on the RX1 ... while I'm sure I would love the files, this camera is purely about user friendly-ness. If I want gorgeous files, I will bring my Leica.

Chris - I suspect it will be somewhat personal preferences, but IIRC Joe, who hasn't posted much here recently, found the M240 files converted to B&W well enough to sell his MM... I think if you can get only one camera, it would be the M240 for the option to do colour and B&W and the benefit of the various feature refinements.

I agree Ron, the 240 would be the best single camera to own. Funny thing is though as I think back, I shot almost completely b&w till digital came out and I stopped my darkroom work. Only when I got my 5D did I start shooting color. I do miss b&w work and hence why I keep asking about the MM and conversions. If they weren't just so darn expensive, I'd have both camera's.

Love the second set of those images btw

This is the first time I've used the Macro-Elmar-M 90mm f/4 for a portrait. The subject, inside a dark shop with an open door, asked me to take a picture of her with her cat — in the Wang Burapha area of Bangko's China Town. The processing, with Silver Efex is as described in this post a copuple of days ago.

Snug as a bug in a rug...er..rugs Lovely Gary.

Edit: Mitch, had the time to look at that video and the SEFEX processing. Very clear and concise that even I could follow. I love the Tri-X film look, one of my old time favs. Thanks for sharing! And interesting too that he felt his X files were nearly comparable to Leica files. Many a Fuji lovers out there.

Mitch - I like China town in BKK.. Has a cool vibe to it. Nice portrait, I've always liked the macro lens for portraits.

Werner_Utsch - Either you frequent that station a lot, or you were really early to the station one day Good BW process.

Gary - Also like the BW files!

uhoh7 - These look much cleaner and modern then I thought they would with the 75lux... Almost 75APO in character.

This ZM25 continues to amaze me for the price/performance value. It resolves so well for landscapes and is a great match for the M240.

@Gary the shots with the young girl are just exquisite
@Rene both shots very vivid
@Edward #3 in both sets my favs
@Mitch love the elmar shot

@Adam re 74 Lux
@1.4 it can be glowy, depending on the light, but come off that one click to 1.8 and the lens is seriously resolving already. At f/2 it is near clinical. It's entirely possible I may be back from WO with the lux above, because I did not have my ND filter, and was afraid to blow the highlights...yet I was trying to sneak a few in.

On these walks I had the Lux on my new A7M (till battery died) and first the Kaaragon then the 28 Cron on the M9, both strapped and it let me shoot very fast, and gave me great flexiblity. The A7 can shoot the 75 Lux wide open without any filter because it goes to 8k shutter. But I must say WO on the M9 is more crisp.

In the Wang Burapha section of Bangkok's China Town, on Thanon Burapha, across the street from the Old Siam shopping mall, there are score or so of gun shops. This is another picture for the Alone in Bangkok book project. The current 35 photos in the project will be edited down into the first two chapters: the is likely to be changed and some more photos will be added. My second Wotancraft bag showed up this week. This one is called the "Raven", and is meant to be absolutely the minimal M bag. In fact it does not care for the Sony A7, whose faux Prism hump makes the camera to tall to naturally fit, though of course it can be stuffed

Here it is alongside the Ryker, and it really is much smaller: more so than it appears in this picture even.

For a walk with two bodies, i think this will make a great lens repostory as well.

The magnetized flaps:

raven and ryker by unoh7, on Flickr
The raven has no large side pocket just one smaller zipper and an open flat pouch, so with the flap over it's way narrower.

PS: Great deal on ZM18, not mine
