Ron - Every time I think of the M60 I get sad. I would have had that camera in my hands by now if it weren't for Leica's decision to pair it with a 35FLE. Which BTW, I've had glued to my camera the last few weeks, trying to see if I could stand it as a walk around lens, but can't.

It would be great if they put it into regular production with a similar body design. But I doubt it. I'd like a black version! Actually my wife told me to buy the M60 and then take it apart and have it DLC coated, and then put it back together. I love her for supporting me, but that would have been a crazy bad idea, and I know something would have went really really wrong.

If the MM240 comes out, and its all that the MM was to the M9, then I think I might give it a go.

The 85 sonnar at f/4. I should have shot this one wide open though. Now I regret it

PS: No PP whatsoever, except saturation slider to -100.

I'm probably alone in the fact I would like to see a really good color sensor 21/24 MPs great in low light with no video and no more automation than my MM has on it. In fact I would like to see even less.

It can be a lonely at the summit when one can reach the pinnacle of excellence without the need of bells and whistles. Nothing beats the feeling of a manual composition where all we need to worry about is the image we want to capture.

All the bells and whistles just keep getting the photographer farther from the process and do nothing to help create better images.

Times are changing. Much like what occurred with film vs digital, record vs. cassette vs CD vs MP3 debates. Still images are important and photographers like yourself and others here in the Leica thread continue to capture memorable images. The photographic industry is evolving as customers who employ photographer's services who once asked for still images now are asking for video too. Some photographers are supplementing their photo work with video. For them they prefer to use one camera for all functions.

I would like Live View. My eyes just don’t focus as well with aperture wide open as they used to. I would like video especially on the next MM so I could do some B&W video without having to convert in post.

My thoughts would be why try and compete with the big two?

Not necessarily compete but differentiate products that fill a need that the others haven’t addressed. Leica’s rangefinders are unmatched and dslr’s are not rangefinders. But as dslr’s continue to get smaller and are packed with more features Leica could find that past customers(i.e. the rich and famous who buy Leica’s) opt to buy something else. Look at how Sony is taking away customers from the Big Two.

I think that other than producing a few special editions the Leica Rangefinders will continue to evolve further away from traditional film camera designs by adding features that you find on Dslr's and video.

Interesting to see the Summitar, Gary. Have you had it long? I just picked up a nice copy but haven't shot much with it since the aperture was very stiff. Gerry Smith at Kindermann is giving it a CLA at the moment.

Times are changing but lets hope that Leica leaves the one size fits all cameras to the big two and keeps making specialized tools for those that have no other place to get them.

Allen, killer last set, great eye to see the compositions. Are you reacting to what you see or do you see an opportunity and wait for someone to come into the frame?

Phil, the MM is in good hands with you. I haven't felt a hint of lust for one until your last few images.

Sometimes I find a spot and hang and wait to see if something happens and I kinda did that with 4 & 6 but the rest were all while I was on the move.

I've only had it a few months but haven't used it much at all. I bought a "user" copy, disassembled it, and gave it a good CLA. It's actually a pretty fun lens. Nice and small and it performs fairly well. A bit too glowy for my taste WO but fairly sharp stopped down a bit. Interesting swirly bokeh too...

Thoroughly enjoyed everyone's images. Fantastic airfrogusmc, esp. love the lady with the b&w striped bag and sidewalk. Great one!

Btw, finally got the 28mm pics up. My first time selling here, I hope people will trust me and at least I have great ebay feedback. May I get anyone's opinion as to the ad? price? photography? I haven't photographed stills in 40yrs, so I was flying by the seat of my pants trying to get the right angles. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1342141/0?nc=1#12802462

Thanks
Chris

Gary, I love that swirly bokeh, very Petzval-like. My old Nikon 58/1.4 produced very similar results which really was its defining characteristic. On a separate note, where did you get the black Leica dot?
