Rirakuma, as you know, those are superb. I've been to Nepal twice for trekking and Kayaking, but last was in the 90's and I'm itching to return. I came in from China in 1985, that was something! Later, during my immortal period, I got to Kayak some very large and beautiful rivers. Memories are vivid even today.
M240 + ZM 25mm Biogon. I'm still kind of leaning towards trading this lens out for the ZM 21mm (even though the 25 seems to be technically superior, I just find that when I want to shoot wide, it seems to be wider than 25mm.)
Werner - great B&W images like the non HDR image better but on the previous page the HDR looks very natural
FastShadow - you have captured a great expression there - love the rendering of the lens

AbramG - don't sell the ZM25/2.8 unless you really have to - I love the sharpness of this lens, if you need a wider lens have a look at the Voigtlander 21/1.8 too - found it a lot better than the ZM21
I don't "have" to sell the lens. I'm just trying to settle on which focal lengths I really like for this system. 35/50mm are givens for me, but I was really up in the air over what wide to go with. I do really like the 25mm when I use it, but I also am a big (possibly bigger) fan of 21 and 28mm. I can work with 24/25mm, it's just not one I used often despite having one for years and years.
Just fantastic photography everyone! All very inspiring. Though I don't have an M setup, yet, I've been here lurking so long, I hope you'll all allow me to share one shot with my 5D and 28mm/2.8 R pc super angulon of our newest family member enjoying himself outside. (Unfort. I need to sell this to fund an M...and maybe my 90mm R AA...which I don't want to sell ;( ) But I just wanted to finish by saying, I'm amazed at everyone's willingness to share their work, the cordial manner on this forum.
Chris, I've seen your posts elsewhere about your possible move to the M240. I suppose it's very much a matter of budget, but if you don't have to sell the 90R, you could still use it on the M with the R adapter. Of course it would only work with live view focusing...
Chris - used M240's are starting to sell for much lower prices than a few months ago. Also - M9's are a steal right now. And M8's.... I have never before seen so much Leica gear on the B&S here. Buyers market for sure....
Ron - looks like a busy place to be. One could probably spend an hour or so shooting up there. BTW - Sudbury was so cold yesterday! Should have stayed in Calgary where it was +5C. Saw the big nickel and not much else.
Ron, this forum has been very helpful learning about Leica camera's in general, familiarizing myself with image quality, and indiv. lens' qualities. I am finding myself feeling like I can't live without an M at this point, terrible I know! Even my spouse who knows little, or cares anything about photography, LOVES my R lenses and can for the most part, pick out my Leica images easily from my Canon pics. But who also doesn't want me to sell the 90 AA to buy a new camera. The 28 pc SA I can sell and use the money to buy a 28mm Elmarit or with a little savings, a 35 lux. So I'll either get lucky and get the ok to buy one, or I'll have to sell the 90 to get an M and just have a 28 or 35. We'll see what I can workout but I don't think I'd be unhappy with an M and a 28/35, but I'd love to use an M - R adapter and keep the 90...fingers crossed.
Gary, I just started looking so I had no idea it's a buyers market. I guess people are starting to sell the m240's in anticipation of a new one like the new MM? I'm sure, knowing my luck, I'll prob. buy right before they decrease a lot Heck, the good news is that there's going to be no price increase which I feared was going to keep used prices high.
Yeah I just bought my M240 in November and I'm already seeing prices lower than what I paid. Though I bought mine from Tamarkin so I have a warranty through them despite it being used. I don't regret it because they made that such a positive purchasing experience, and for me this was easily one of the most expensive photography equipment purchases I've ever made. After selling my Canon system I decided to make the move to the M system.
chrislee, if your wife can pick the picture (whether she can or you convinced her of the difference, which I think I did to get approval of 240), its the best time to buy it before she finds out otherwise. I got MM delivered today and I did not seek prior approval. So today, I most likely will get no dinner and a lot of silence when she finds out about what's in the box. I am excited and at the same time scared to face her.

With a 35/50 combo. I'd suggest going as wide as you can while still enjoying the lenses rendering and IQ.

Yes, Dan's a nice guy for sure. My 5D's not worth enough for me to sell it, and ya just never know when I'll need the 70-200L though I can easily live without my 24-105L. Congrats AbramG on the new camera!

jfreak! Man, I'd get Killed if I did that! I'd not even make till dinner lol Although, an MM almost might make it worthwhile! After comparing MM files comp. to M240 dngs to b&w w. Silver Efex, the MM has amazing tonal curves, the converted file is darn nice too, just lacking that sparkle. I've been mostly a b&w film shooter my entire life till the 5D. But I'll start with the M240 Oh, and Congrats too!!

Thanks. I survived. I only got a look (with smile) and - "so you bought it!". And its all normal now.... Kinda shooting around testing things. Hopefully will post some pictures soon.
