Hey Phil! Ron tried it out and posted a few test shots.... Don't recall if it was here or elsewhere.

Edit - here they are.... https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1318450/10#12697578

Great stuff everyone!

Phil, I also posted pretty much the same thing on my website here, which includes a link to the full-rez files.

IMO the character of the ZM seems very 'clean' which some might consider boring. It appears to be highly corrected and very sharp across the frame already at wider apertures. I'd love to get my hands on an RX1 again and compare the two lenses because my impression so far is the ZM might be fairly close in character to the RX1's Sonnar.

Duane - love it!
Charlie - very interesting, but don't have any experience with this aspect of lenses to offer an opinion.
Edward - love the ZM85!
Gary - enjoying the continuation of the series. What's the story of the guy balanced in midair? A matter of perfect timing?
Michael - very interesting, keep the updates coming.
Adam - I bet Leica repairs the lens to current specifications. I.e. replaces that ring with the thicker one.
Richard - Best wishes to you too!

Some from the NYC Halloween parade (seems I'm a couple holidays behind)... purely documentary shots to look back years from now. Some people certainly go to extremes with their outfits!

And here are a few shots of 'random people walking.'

M240 & 21 Lux for all.

Apparently there are too many photos of people just walking around without any meaning to it. Without decisive moments. According to some on RFF.

Thanks Ron for your input on the lens

I'm using my MM for a wedding this Sat. and was planning on using my Pre-War Jena 5cm 1.5 for it's special rendering, but I am opting not to use it due to it being a special wedding and do not want to risk it, the only lens I will be using during the wedding will be my rigid 50 cron and cv 35 1.2 version 1 which I am very comfortable using for events. Wish I still had the nocti 1f E58

Here are some quick in-house samples w/the MM and Pre-War Jena 5cm 1.5 below if anyone is interested, I love the rendering of this lens!!

Merry Christmas All

Phil

Note the exif data is inaccurate it was shot wide open or very close to it! the aperture ring does not click, it rolls

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everybody.

jojomon11 - Really like the rendering, especially in the second and last photos. Also a lot of people use the CV35 1.2 for weddings.. I use the 35FLE, but would be open to the idea of using the CV if it weren't so big. Probably also one of the main reasons why I don't use the Noctilux for weddings.

Ron - We'll see.. I wouldn't be bothered either way (ok well maybe a bit bothered). But honestly, I've read mixed responses. Some peoples they change out, others they don't. I think since mine is loose and not tight (which was the original recall problem) they might just tighten it. IF they need to replace the part, then I'm sure it'll come back looking like my current one. Either way I'm gonna sell one of the 21SEMs off. I also ended up with two 75APO lenses (long story, involved a sudden job booking). So I have that spare lens to sell off as well. And of course I'm always on the verge of downsizing my collection to one lens (hah!)

Dead Man's hand

The legend is that Wild Bill Hickock was holding this poker hand when he was shot in the back and killed in 1873. Ever since then black aces and eights have been known as the Dead Man's Hand. Leica M240-P with Zeiss 35mm f/2 Biogon. Processed in LR 5.7.1.

Thanks for looking,
Mark

It does have it's charm
I'm actually in Singapore for the holidays. I'll be back in Los Angeles by spring though after some work that I have to finish up here.

Mark - Neat shot, with an interesting description.

uhoh7 - Seriously jealous right now.. Wish I was skiing in Japan

Interesting fellow I met, that fit the MM theme very well

Phil

MM w/50 Rigid cron almost the perfect match, with the Nocti 1f being first for me

Nice combo Phil ... that combo works well with that subject!

A nice old fashioned Christmas toy...

EDIT: note the second shot - it was quite overexposed (on purpose, as I was trying to capture movement) and you can easily see the "mark" that I am sending the body in for next month. Any advice on sending it in is appreciated. I have an appointment on the 21st.
