The Zeiss won't give any Exif's it is not coded and not in the in Cam database. The Lux should give Exifs if coded, otherwise you have to manual set the cam to the lens.
And yes! The MM is addictive....
But the estimated aperture should show nonetheless.

Ed, the Zeiss 250/5,6 SA is not multicoated like other Zeiss lenses with T* coating. The color is muted compared with the Leica S lenses. The images that I took this morning are all handhold. I should have taken a tripod with me for the 250 SA. Here are few more from this morning.

The M9 files still have a little IR influence, but not as much as the M8, If you want files with no IR leakage, you still need filters, although no one uses it like this, I guess. The M8 files are a bit more punchy, but otherwise they are very similar.

M mount lenses are not electronically linked to the M bodies. New lenses are optically coded so that the camera recognizes the lens in use, which appears in the exif, and also allows you to select auto image correction in the camera. This said, this is completely unnecessary. I only use Zeiss lenses, and none is coded. I just have to guess which lens I was using if I need to (never).
Yes, the aperture should be there no matter what lens is used. This one is with the Zeiss 50 Planar from Berlin and aperture was (calculated to) 3.4 according to the EXIF data.

Anyone with the 4/135 Tele-Elmar? I bought one yesterday (in black) to use with my newly acquired Sony A7s. I should have it by the end of the week or beginning of next week.
What's your opinion on the lens? It isn't really fast but I am still hoping that I could get some nice background blur for some pleasings street portraits.

Upon review, there must have been 20 or so accidental exposures... so that may have played a part in it working too hard. Who knows! No big deal in this case anyway
