Many thanks for the comments and likes, guys! Much obliged!

Werner, very nice Polenta making shot! The cook looks very concentrated.

pingflood, beautiful colors. I love the first, and especially the last shot.

Gary, fantastic shot! Unfortunately, no stampede here, but you can find almost anything else

Joe, great light in your shot and the rendering of the lens is very nice too.

Charlie, great landscapes and light. My favourite is first shot.

Nice catch, burningheart. Great timing!

Thanks Ed. Turned out it wasn't quite the type of shot the instructor wanted, but he didn't care. He was thoroughly impressed with the detail, patterns and textures and went on a tangent telling the class how much he loved the shot.

I thought the assignment was on movement and motion. The instructor wanted extreme motion so an Elk having a slight movement of the leg didn't qualify but when I mentioned it the instructor said don't worry about that I want to talk about all the things you captured in the shot. He was totally impressed.

I just had the incredible pleasure of testing a M-Monochrom to see if it would work for me and unfortunately for my accountant - I loved it!.

Howvere I was surprised that in Aperture and Capture One I’m not getting any aperture data in the Exif information. Is this normal with the M9/M-Monochrome/M240?

Werner, another beautiful capture!

Siddhu, congrats! That doesn't sound normal to me, even though I use only ACR for my conversions. The camera only estimates the aperture used, but the estimation should be in the exif.

Question: other than the obvious, is there any difference in the output between the M8 and the M9? I am absolutely loving the M8 files, but with the rangefinder framing inaccuracies I find myself often left with a 6mp or so file to work with, which can be limiting when doing larger prints. Does the M9 have the same "magic" output as the M8 considering it appears to basically have a full size version of the same sensor? From images it sure looks like it!

Some guys claim the M8 is sharper, but yes, it is the same sensor with thicker AA/IR filter to deal within the magenta problem. You gain 1 stop of better high iso too.

Outstanding colors and clarity, ocean. The Zeiss seems to have a completely different rendering though. More subdued perhaps?

In CS6 I don't get the right aperture info (MM and 35 lux FLE) but it doesn't bother me at all.

No problems with Exif + MM and LR 5.

The aperture info should be in the DNG file so you should see it, I do in Lightroom and Capture One

Unfortunately I'm not seeing it in either CP8 or Aperture. Could it be that in some way the demo unit that Leica provided me was not set up correctly?

I shot with the Zeiss 50mm Sonnar and the Summilux 35 ASP.

All I can say that I've never seen digital black and white to look so incredible EVER so easily.

One more shot from the Hindu festival. I hope I'm not boring you with too many photos from the same subject.

@siddhu

The Zeiss won't give any Exif's it is not coded and not in the in Cam database. The Lux should give Exifs if coded, otherwise you have to manual set the cam to the lens.

And yes! The MM is addictive....

Just curious as to what you mean by this as my 48h MM testing was my first exposure to using the Leica M system. I'm really floored by the IQ and I'm now thinking that I also need a M240!
