There are at least 3 copies of 35-80/2.8 gathering dust in a local shop here.
How interesting is this purchase if one already owns CY 35-70/3.4?

How about I trade you my excellent CY 35-70/3.4 for an excellent condition Zuiko 35-80/2.8? I have owned both and only sold the Zuiko for needed funds

How much are they selling? I don't mind getting another one to keep.

Thanks! Yeah, I think 600mm equiv. is minimum standard requirement for this guy. He's too aware of his perimeter and keeps a minimum of almost exactly 15m from humans at all times. And he's about 10cm from tip to tip so I guess there's some math for those so inclined.

Yeah, patience is one way. The other is following him around - so it's: grab the extended pod, hoist it over the shoulder, run to where she flew to, set up, level out, ball tension, wait 3 to 5, grab some sequences, repeat. She does this about 10 times a day currently. I think She's fishing for a family. I've located her base but I've never seen a male. Recently there's a second female who lives about 50 meters away and they battle occasionally over territory. Some of the other guys have brought prints of it to show but I haven't seen it first hand (yet) myself.

I have the 3.4 and the 4.0. The 3.4 is noticeably better at all ranges and apertures except WO at 70mm where the 4.0 is much better. I can't imagine the 2.8 being /that/ much better but I guess it is to some degree and also it's brighter so if it's cheap go for it I say.

Great shots, everyone!

Btw, how does IQ of slower Zuiko's compare to the faster counterparts? I.e 100/2.8 to 100/2, 135/2.8 to 135/3.5...etc..?

Tons of great photos here. I finally got outside this AM to give my new (to me) 21 f/3.5 a work out. Many thanks to Ed Sawyer for the lens.

while I have not tried all the OM lenses. My experiences with the f3.5 are better than the f2.8 and f2.0. I am now keeping 16, 18, 21, 28, 50mm. All f3.5

BTW, does anyone put a UV filter over the 49-72 hood of the 18mm? Does it cause vignetting?

Great images everyone! I will post an image(s) later of basically the same subject, with both the 24mm 2.0 and the 24mm 2.8. I like the 2.8 as much as I did the 2.0!

HBOC - Looking forward to your f/2 vs f/2.8 comparisons. I've been considering getting one of the OM Zuiko 24's for a while. Seriously leaning towards one of the 24 f/3.5 shifts but would still like to see the f/2 and f/2.8's. I'm very happy with the 21 f/3.5 and 75-150 f/4 that I recently acquired.

Here's a couple more with the 21 f/3.5 from the other morning...

Paul, I loved your photos, especially those in color.

Mategraphica, beautiful pictures too, congratulations!

This picture was taken with a 24mm f / 2. I sold it on eBay recently, I was like new! It's a shame, but I had to pay some new acquisitions ...

Great shots Dustin!
Unfortunately, I didn't get any good shots this week.
I don't think I've gotten good shots in a while. The shock factor of taking pictures of people's faces, and the yelling that follows shortly after has reduced my confidence. I should start again in a public square and slowly build up my confidence.

you need to get a longer FL lens. Perhaps an 85mm, especially on a crop. That way you can be far away(ish), and they won't know what you are shooting!

That's a good point. Well, the lenses I have now are:
50mm 1.8 Zuiko
28mm 3.5 Zuiko
18-55 kit.

Yeah. Looks like I need an 85mm. I was going to get that EF 50mm I mentioned on CL, but I decided not to based on the build quality. I think an 85 would be a great next step. Though I suppose it would be expensive. I guess I'll start a thread about it.

The 28mm definitely has great IQ, but people know that you are shooting them, since they are right in front of you...
