The Summilux-R 80 f1.4 is my favorite portrait lens, though I tend to favor a bit more DOF than you show here.

Appreciate your feedback. I understand.
The one show here is a snapshot of life moment.
For me, the shorter the distance of subject, the more pronounced SA 80lux WO will exhibit, the case really differentiate itself from different 75-85mm lens, good or bad. The longer the shooting distance and the smaller the aperture, the less character(or mood) it shows.
What I really like about Leica R is they can creates a atmosphere for the moment, I just love its cinematic rendering but it is very personal.
I treat each image a still capture from motion picture for Leica R. Usually I continue focusing and shooting through OVF with pre defined composition, I could miss many shots, but missed shot or very shallow DOF images in this case could be keeper over in focused ones as I personally value the moment and atmosphere over detail for document family life. A reason I am still using these R glasses over modern stuff such as Art or OTUS lenses for such a case.
If I had a very good light and color around, with bright eyes catching light, smile at me, I'd imagine shoot at f2.8~f4 will be more preferred.
It is just a personal opinion of course
A few more 50lux R E55 image. Please don't hesitate giving critical comments, as discuss and different viewpoint will benefit everyone.
