Here are three taken from today. I am blown away by the resolution of the APO-Telyt R 180 f/3.4.

The crop shot is at about 50% scale. All of these were handheld and shot using audible focus-confirm on my Pentax K-1.

For sure, this is an excellent lens. As it is not my favourite focal length, I sold it. It's excellent at long distance, what it has been made for... I had this one, the Apo Elmarit-R 280/2.8 and the Apo Summicron-R 180/2. Today, I have got the non-Apo Elmarit-R 180/2.8 ver.II and I like it very much, no distorsion and a perfect combo with Apo-Extender-x1.4 to make a very good 250/4 with a mini. focus distance at 1.80m...

The Elmarit-R 2.8/28 v2 has beautiful rendering and geometry. I wonder if the same optical formula is available in M-mount...

Edit: Nope, it is not. Both the M v4 and the first-gen ASPH have a different optical formula. Ergo, the R mount version is truly unique.
