This is a new lens for me, and I like it more than my other 28mm lenses--CY 28 f2.8 Distagon and Pentax K 28 f2.8. Sharpness is about equal or slightly better than the CY, but the Leica's colors and overall rendering are really special.
Photos taken in Death Valley, CA. with midday sun. Sorry for that, but I was traveling with my wife, and you know how that goes.

Thank you for sharing your first shots with the Leica Elmarit-R 28/2.8(II). Expensive but small and clever...
Yes, to all of those. I got mine for a very good price. It is in excellent condition, but the focusing ring is stiff, so I am sending it to Steve's Camera Service for CLA. The total end cost will still be less than typical selling prices that I have seen. But it will be worth it. The Elmarit is the first 28mm lens that inspires me to use it. The examples that I posted are nothing great, but I think that they show the lovely colors and rendering that have smitten me. I expect that I will be using my 35mm lens less in the coming days.
I am a french froggy... "clever" because even when your picture seems bad, the results seems good...
It's a magic lens, very good in all fields, I can't do without it, it's my favourite focal length.. She's got brain for me, when I put my eye in the viewfinder, photographic composition becomes obvious...

I just received my first R lens - 50mm f2 Summicron . I mounted it on a Novoflex R-M adapter then on a Leica M-T adapter to the Leica T camera. I use an EVF which makes focusing quite easy. At first try, the R 50mm Summicron looks to be very sharp.
It's not as sharp as Sigma lenses I own (Art 50/35) but I like them very much for their micro-contrast and Walter Mandler rendering... Small and smart...
Very nice picture, simple and efficient. Bravo!
