Elmarit-R 28; few attempts to gain access to a rooftop of a building facing downtown Vancouver. It turned out that the rooftop had 8' high security rails! OK, managed to find decent access above the rails; a shaky 12' ladder planted on a gravel surface. Hand held 36MP shot? - nope, spread my Gitzo over the rail and top steps of a ladder held by building security guard (thank you; building and a guard to remain nameless and very appreciated!)
Elmarit-R 28 is a hell of a lens! Unfortunately I wasn't able to do its justice by holding camera on a semi-tripod, but still, the lens manages to show its virtues.
Jack -- That's an incredible shot of downtown Vancouver waterfront. I especially enjoy your "adventure" in setting up the shot with the help of the security guard. Did you tip him?
Anyway, I took two shots of Bill. Here's the other in color. Bill is such a good sport. At first, he was uncomfortable with me taking his photo. Later, he loosen up after we spoke for a few minutes and even asked me if he should take off his hat for the shot. He has been leaving in shelters and under the bridge after losing his restaurant business 3 years ago. A truly sad story...
Kokusai...I think I like the color version better, actually! It has just a bit more "pop", IMHO
Couple taken with the 90 Elmarit, today...
Thanks for looking,
Gregg
Thanks Gregg. I struggled processing the colored version until I finally settled with a less saturated look. BTW. Love the shot of Gio especially with those curly locks.

Thank you Kokusai...we can't go anywhere with him, without women(usually moms, or teenage girls) cooing over his blond locks!! Funny, too, 'cause his older brother has dead straight hair!!

Michael...I like daily life shots...That's about all I do these days! How do you decide which camera to shoot, with which lens, and when, Michael?
I look forward to the day when I can actually get out and do nightscapes and landscapes, but for now, I just keep adding to the thousands of pics of my boys, much to the chagrin of my wife, 'cause we just don't have enough prints("Their all on your computer", she says!!)...oh well...
A few more shots...
Thanks for looking,

Greg, Both wonderful! Which Camera you use for your R lens?
AS for which camera and lens I choose, I am embarrassed for having so many gears they are really not helping my picture or photography. Like many says: It is a separate hobby. On the other hand, it is nothing wrong you have passion and love for your tool.
I don't real know which/what to pick But I am pretty sure for travel : I will use RX1 with A7&55FE and Leica with 50lux and 21 biogon.
After fever of this round of gear, I will go back to keep shooting SLR with Rlux. A7 is only good for accuracy but not get the moment.
So far, I still feel my best shooting comes from SLR with R lens for daily life (given my photography priority) I am under control most of time with D700. With A7, I don't have the control most of the time., worse with RX1 because of no AF-C. With AF, I indeed miss tons of shots, a lot more than MF. I won't complain, I guess I just need more time to be adaptive for the new tool.
