Normally pets, people etc as a subject aren't on my radar and I don't normally heap praise on images. However, these two images are special, working well as a pair, so well done in seeing this opportunity and thanks for posting.
@crazy shot...any 100mm lens is a viable alternative for portraits, regardless of brand. As far as the Leica's go, I have no experience with either, but i don't think you could go wrong with either, either!!
A couple more with the 50 Lux wide open. i love the way this lens renders points of light in the background!!
Thanks for looking,
Gregg
Gregg, seems this is explosion of nirvana in your mind )
Quite right, Worldinlens!!!
I've gone through so many 50's trying to find my niche(and 35's, too!), and I think i finally have. Between the Cron R 50 and R Lux(this is my fav so far), I'm sold! Thank god I can't afford the E60, or I would be in serious trouble!
It's sharp wide open, sharper beyond stopped down, has very little if any CA, and the look is just.....well, for lack of better words, Leica!!

jpeter, do you think about "Leice R 100mm APO" for portrait vs "Leica R 80mm F1.4"?
I have never used the 80f1.4, so can't make a comparison. Since it's just 20% less focal length but about 2 stops faster, the focal plane should be shorter on the 80.
The thing about the 100 macro is that it's not a 1-trick pony, really no flaws and good for everything. There is absolutely NO CA when shooting objects against a bright background or sky.
Some folks complain about the 3-rotation focus, but if you are at a non-macro FL it doesn't come into play.

Well, I have gone and done it. I have an R 28mm f2.8 Elmarit V2 that is supposed to ship to me tomorrow. It probably will become one of my 2 major WA lenses to use with my A7r.
