The good news is that days are getting shorter so you still can have a decent sleep and catch sunrise before 8am.
The life sometimes gives us moments when we understand, feel and see by own eyes the true keywords in photograpfy - light and composition. All other time we looking for best lenses and cameras but this is does not really matter in fact

It's early autumn and we have such a great, warm weather in Vancouver. Waking up early and going for a walk with cup of coffee in hand can be very inspirational especially when first rays of sun break thought fog and mist. Really, it doesn't take much, nature did perfect setup, all is left is to press shutter.
