I don't drink, so I didn't know about that.
I think Cognac with ice is sort of standard for commercial shots.
Call it Scotch instead. They are close to the same color, and Scotch is served in that sort of glass and often with ice. Get a cheap snifter and skip the ice and call it Cognac. Wonderfully lit.
I'll be happy to drink your "samples" used in the shots.

Thanks Georg. Saw your comment within the Nikon MF thread. Where is your location ?
Rolf
I live near Rostock ("port of Berlin" :-). I have a weak spot for working ships like "Alfons", small tugs, fishing vessels and so on, that's why I like your images from the lock so much.
I have just 2 Leica-lenses converted so far - an Apo-Telyt 180 and an old Summicron-R 90.
I should use these gems much more, but a lot of times laziness ( = using a Nikkor zoom) takes place...
Cheers, Georg!
Samuli, Wayne, et al: Further to earlier discussions, the Canon tripod mount ring A for the 70-200 f/4L is pretty much a perfect fit for the 180/2.8 APO with much improved rigidity over that of the STA-1.
...and one thing I just (fortunately) noticed is that the outer rear casing of my lens, which is where the tripod ring attaches, was quite loose as the screws that secure it to the rest of the lens body were almost undone. Please check your lenses to ensure that the phillips head screws at the front edge of the tripod ring bearing surface are properly tightened.
Forgot to report back here about the 70-200 f/4 ring, but better later than never:
I ordered one from eBay, which this forum can't link (link will go broken always), but it's description was:
Tripod Mount Ring Collar/Camera Support fr Canon 70-200mm/F4L USM★80-200mm/F2.8L
And the item number 250927975136
Ring is slightly loose, it will support the lens well and there is no play BUT you can rotate the lens in tripod collar. This is rather annoying, and I'm not sure will I use the tripod collar at all, after all Leica 180/2.8 APO is not very heavy lens. Also I'm now completely spoiled by having accurate water scales in geared tripod head (PhotoClam Multiflex) and when using ring the horizontal waterscale is useless. However if one shoots with 2x then I highly recommend to use tripod collar.
It might be possible to improve the tripod ring by adding some thin badding to inside of ring, but I doubt anything will stick since collar is all the time turned when switching from portrait to landscape.
This is latest version. The first is not good. I have a long time studied these different versions, and second much better. One of the best landscape lenses, which I know.
